First Bite Guard & I’m Pleased!
I’ve been struggling with a sore tooth that my dentist has attributed (correctly, I believe) to grinding my teeth at times at night, and she recommended a night guard. After reading all the reviews, I decided on this one, and am really pleased. It took a couple of times to properly heat and fit the guard, and I was a little concerned because it didn’t fit tightly when I went to bed last night, but apparently the biting I did last night helped to seal it. It is soft and I didn’t struggle with it at all overnight. It does seem to be small - my mouth is small - so it is perfect for me, but if you have a bigger mouth it might take some work to adjust it - not sure. Can highly recommend!

Horrible. Super thin and tiny. Floppy. Doesn't stay
The media could not be loaded. This is literally the worst mouthguard I've had in my 50 years wearing them.It feels like it's child size when you're trying to fit it, but it wouldn't fit a child either (too spread) so I don't know what they were going for. It's super thin and narrow. Impossible to fit my (145lb sized female) back teeth in.I tried anyways. I followed the instructions but I added 5 Seconds just for good measure (so 120). It wasn't the least bit softened. There was no biting into it. And I have a high-powered microwave!Put it back in for another 30 seconds, and then bit as hard as I could, literally. I got it down deep enough, but it's just flimsy. No way this would stay on teeth at night. It doesn't wrap around them. There's just not enough stuff in the tiny mold.Plus of course the teeth didn't fit so one side isn't even lined up quite right. But heating it again is not going to fix.I pulled it out at max time, and it's floppy almost like jello. It looks like one of my old mouth guards after the dog completely chewed it up.It also only covers the front half of your teeth. Another reason it doesn't stay in. And it's going to make your jaw misaligned in the morning if you're a heavy chewer. The scope flavor is just weird. What a waste. I'm mad. I wanted something thinner so I could breathe through my top teeth but I can't seem to find the brand that offers this!

Follow the directions
This product works exactly as explained in the directions provided. My dentist said I grind my teeth and a night guard would prevent me from wearing down my teeth. My insurance wouldn't cover it even though it is medically necessary and I thought I could make one myself for cheaper. I can already tell it's working because the bite marks from tooth grinding I had on the inside of my mouth are almost gone completely. I suggest before attempting to make the night guard you read the instructions fully then watch videos on how other people did it.I did do some research and these are some things I came across that would be helpful when making the night guard and using it:- It is not suppose to cover all your back teeth because the area it covers prevents your back teeth from touching.- most teeth grinding happens at night, if you grind your teeth then it needs to be worn every night- if your microwave is low wattage you may need to heat the guard up longer.- after it's made you can reheat it up in the microwave and bite into it again if it doesn't fit correctly or doesn't feel comfortable. The guard is soft and flexible so it should fit snug but not tight. (If you have acid reflux and notice it is getting worse since the night guard then you need to redo the guard).- it will take a few nights of wearing it for your brain to adjust to having it in your mouth, so don't worry if you notice things like increase saliva, more grinding, headaches or other symptoms. I personally had more saliva and I swallowed some air (causing me to be gassy) that resolved after a few days. I didn't notice any changes in my preexisting acid reflux.- after you make the guard be careful removing the guard from the green tray because the green tray is thin and very easy to crack. I put it in a bucket of ice water and I used a piece of plastic floss to gently ease the guard out of the green tray.- don't clean the guard with tooth paste! some types of tooth paste may damage the guard. The best way to care for it is just to rinse it with cold water (hot water will deform it) and dry it with a paper towel or cloth, then store it in the white container it came with. That's all I have noticed so far with the guard, if anything changes I will update. Everything is going well with it and I do recommend it. It should be one size fits all but everyone's mouth is different. The price is fair so I think it is worth buying it, even if it doesn't fit right to you at least you have the experience of making the guard to know how to redo it or know how to chose another one.

Quick fix
Got this for my husband to test out his tolerance for a mouth guard. He is a terrible teeth grinder. I can’t see this being a long-term fix, it was good to test out and use in the interim for a better set.Pros:Quick, at-home impressionsForgiving impressions, you have a second chance if you didn’t get a good oneShort impression time, no waiting for one to be made and mailedDid it’s job at protecting the teeth, when the wearer kept it inCons:The guard is not deep, not enough material to cover the length of the teeth. Therefore it did not “grip” very well and easily fell off of the teeth.Material is flimsyMy husband often took it out in his sleep, and lost it sometimes.I definitely recommend going for a more formal mouth guard kit, but this was ok for the interim since those take awhile to get made and shipped. Or to see if you’ll tolerate wearing one while you sleep.
