I recently incorporated the Aideepen Relay Module into my home setup, using it to effectively isolate the command signal between my Tado receiver and the devices it controls - specifically my boiler and water tank. All working perfectly, I opted to remove the LED and runs cooler.

I always de-rate cheap electrical items like this, so i work on a max of 5 amps for this relay being safe.I also pop the cover off and cut out the LED and resistor, other people have said the LED and resistor overheat, but i've always cut the stupid things out of all relays that come with them... unless they are proper industrial rated ones.

Just the job for a project I was doing.

Since writing my earlier review of this relay in which I discovered the relay in use was reaching temperatures of up to 70C, I have since done some further evaluation and testing. Having measured the AC current taken by 8 of these relays I established the power consumption of the relay was 2.7W on average, when the stated spec from the supplier is 1W. After reviewing photos of the relay coil it does not fill the bobbin on my relays when compared to the photo of the relay on the Amazon page. This suggests the coil winding was under-wound during manufacture, hence the higher current and power consumption, which is a manufacturing defect and could make these relays subject to early burn-out and potentially be a fire hazard. Aideepen were presented with my test findings but did not agree or disagree with my findings since they did not respond. I also discovered the only way my 8 relays can be kept at a safer working temperature is if they are fitted in a relay socket which acts as a heatsink for the relay. I will not be using these relays and Amazon have agreed to a full refund.

The relays are overheating. Led indicator resistor is overheating to the point of burning plastic carrier. After 30 min switch relay on you can not touch the relay as it is to hot. I checked all 4 relays and all of them was behaving the same plus one of them has faulty led indicator from the start.
