Wrong size, needs to be altered to fit
As others have stated, the lever is oversized. The original is around .500", the new one is about .540", a difference of .04", or basically 1mm. Seems too exactly wrong at 1mm thicker. I used a bench grinder to remove material from both sides and then liberal grease when assembling. Otherwise it's fine. Seems to be original Shimano part, but who really knows.

Great OEM Shimano lever
Typical Shimano parts, all good stuff - except this one doesn't fit the XT 8100 series barges - it looks like it would, but does not. Make sure you know the parts you are replacing before you order the wrong one!

Item is fine but should not be advertised with Prime 2-day shipping
Item works fine however this should not be listed as 2-day shipping with Prime. This took over 8 days to arrive. I only ordered through this listing because it had 2-day Prime listed and I needed the item within 5 days. Amazon with another misleading prime advertisement.

Caution - does not fit Deore XT m8100 without grinding down the thickness
Snapped a right lever. When new replacement arrived (does not include allen wrench set screw or spring so do NOT lose the old one when you are removing your broken lever) I noticed immediately it would not slide in like all the videos show. When I compared the old and new, the replacement was at least a couple mm thicker. Online you can find others with similar problem and you have to carefully grind/file both sidequite a bit before you can slip it in then replace the pin. Hope this helps someone avoid a longer repair than usual.

Cheaper and easier than a new brake.
Took a bit of effort to get everything lined up to get the pin through but still easier than replacing the whole brake.

Doesn’t fit 2020 xt
The brake lever was too thick. We had to file it down in order to get it to fit. We looked for another option but couldn’t find anything specifically for 2022 xt

Se supone que es una palanca original Shimano, pero no le quedo a mi piston, la tuve que rebajar limando los extremos. Al final funciono pero no se supone que el cliente deba terminar la pieza, mucho que desear del control de calidad
