Pretty cool, but could be improved
Plenty of other reviews cover the basics, so i'll just cover a few details that I wasn't aware of before buying. It was quite easy to connect to my WiFi (then, to the SmartLife app, then to Google Home). It was also easy for me to connect to the device via BlueTooth from my phone, and then play music via the device's speaker.Unfortunately, within SmartLife / Google / Alexa, it can only be controlled as a colored light; you can't have the app / assistant play music or turn the laser on or off. And, while it's set to WiFi mode, you can't manually turn the laser on or off, or control the brightness or other features, with the remote control You have to choose limited control via WiFi / app / assistant, or full control via the remote. No biggie, and probably most people just want to turn it on/off or change colors via the app / assistant. The "wave-like" colored lights and laser "star dots" are completely separate functions. I could see wanting the laser dots OFF when using it as a relaxation / night light. Again, that doesn't seem to be an option if you're using the app / assistant to turn it on before going to sleep. You can set a "sleep timer" in the app or with Google / Alexa, however. All of the above are details that would be nice if they were implemented a bit differently, but probably perfectly fine with most buyers. But the one thing I'd list as a disappointment is that when playing music, the lights don't "pulse" or "surge" with the music, they blink on and off to the beat. It's almost like a strobe and not at all fun to look at. I can even imagine it triggering a seizure in those who are susceptible! I was hoping it would be a good "party light" to set a mood and pulse to the beat of music... but unfortunately it would be downright annoying in that mode and I can't imagine anyone actually using this feature!UPDATE: OK, after a couple days with this device, I had to downgrade from 4 stars to 3 because of a couple more things I have learned:Completely my fault for not realizing this, but I was under the impression that it had a built-in battery and could be charged and then used wirelessly. I was hoping to use it on my little boat. But, it must be plugged in to work.Finally... it has an automatic shut-off after 4 hours (in addition to the ability to use the remote control to set it for shut-off after 1 or 2 hours). This cannot be disabled, even in WiFi mode. In other words... even though it can be controlled by the SmartLife app (which has the ability to add on/off timers) or by Alexa/Google Home, each of which allows you to set a timer to turn it off whenever you want... it has a 4 hour timer that will turn it off whether you like it or not. And when it turns off, it goes completely off the WiFi, so you can't use the app or assistant to turn it back on. You have to manually turn it off, then back on again, and wait for it to reconnect to WiFi. This is a really annoying and unnecessary design flaw. So, if none of these quirks / flaws / limitations applies to how you're planning to use this device, you'll really enjoy it. But I wish I had been aware of these details before buying (and it's my own fault for not realizing the lack of battery).

Many design flaws. Read this before buying.
There are many problems with this star light projector. When this thing is in WiFi mode, there is no way to change the speed of the motor. It will default to the highest speed and there is no way to change it with the phone app or Alexa. When the motor is at full speed it is very noisy. The phone app and Alexa cannot do everything the remote control can do.When the device is in WiFi mode the remote control does not work. It can only be changed by the phone app or Alexa. You have to choose either the remote or the WiFi mode. There is not a single on/off switch on the remote. When using the remote control, the motor, projector, and laser all have to be turned off separately. If you just turn off the lights the motor will keep running. You actually have to turn off 3 separate things on the remote to get this device to shut off completely. So what this breaks down to is that you have a choice on how you want to run it:1) Use the remote, but lose the WiFi phone app and Alexa control.2) Use the WiFi mode, but lose the ability to control the motor (which will be LOUD) and other functions of the device.Either way you are losing some of the features. These are not malfunctions, it is this way because the device was horribly engineered.

Well worth it!
Super cool!!! I’ve been wanting one of these for a pretty long time and I’m super happy with it. Fills my entire ceiling easily and lights up my whole room. The app was slightly confusing to link the projector to but I got it after about 10 minutes! Definitely a good purchase.

Wouldn’t recommend buying this there are way better/cheaper ones
this is so not worth $60 it’s very cheap don’t listen to that dude from tiktok lol this thing is cheeks thought you would be able to adjust the angle of the laser and light but nay didn’t work also it has to be in the center of your room for it to actually look sick unless your putting a chair in the middle of your room than it’s worth it oh yeah and also your finna be needing a long ass outlet connection for it also 100% getting a battery powered on w/ an adjustable light/laser. Something that was actually pretty cool abt was the wifi thing but I don’t have an Alexa so yeah

Nope
It works, but it projects straight up so it would have to be towards the middle of the room to cover the ceiling. That means a cord running out in the open. I leaned it on the wall and it works better, but I shouldn’t have to do that. It also goes offline on its own every night and I have to turn it off and then back on. I bought a different one and have none of these problems. If I had a redo I wouldn’t purchase this one.

Great, just wasn’t compatible with my Alexa
Honestly I really liked this product. Combined with the LED lights it’s really beautiful. Unfortunately, I bought it just so I could use it through Alexa since remote controls aren’t my thing. I hooked it up to Alexa, and the next day it didn’t even work. I hooked it up again, and the same thing happened. For some reason the connection just doesn’t stick. To remedy this, I bought a smart plug, but most of my outlets are occupied and the ones that aren’t don’t reach. The cord on this thing is very smart. Unfortunately, I will be returning just because it is inconvenient for me to stand up and turn it on. I really just wish it worked out because I really enjoyed it.

Mood changer !
I purchase this item for my teen age daughter. She enjoys the elimination while playing her favorite music & or while taking a bath. Especially during this pandemic of being stuck in her room . It brightens her day, lifts her spirit.Ms. D.

Beautiful, easy to use galaxy projector!
Daughter just opened this and set it up, absolutely stunning and soothing. The colors are vivid and warm. You can set a timer and dim or brighten the lighting. App for iPhone to control it instead of using the remote. The speaker isn’t very loud but it’s ok for its purpose
