Terramar Women's 100% Silk Thermasilk Pointelle Scoop Shirt Baselayer

For size reference, I’m 5’3”, generally wear XS or S depending on brand, shirt style, etc. I have a small frame with ~36C chest. Bought a S in this and it fit fine. Definitely not ultra snug, rather pretty loose. At first I was really disappointed, thinking that as a base layer it was supposed to be like 2nd skin, and considered returning it but didn’t have time before leaving for a trip in a couple days. In the end, I’m happy about the fit. Perhaps an XS would’ve fit a bit more snugly, but more likely it would’ve been too tight and the sleeves too short. I had a little trouble finding a few tops in my closet to wear over this that fit in a comfortable-enough way but that’s really only bc apparently I like to wear my tops kind of tight-fitting. So if you don’t have any roomy tops that you can wear over this base layer, or if you prefer your base layer to cling a little more snugly, you might opt for a smaller size of this shirt if you’re on the cusp of the sizing.As others have pointed out many times, it is extremely thin, like hosiery. I too wondered how it could possibly do its job of keeping me warm but as another reviewer said, this product shouldn’t be judged by its cover. Plus although it may have the appearance and thinness of hosiery, fortunately it FEELS nothing like hosiery. I wouldn’t have been able to tolerate that feel. But this top is wicked soft and smooth, not at all scratchy or having that wire scouring-pad feel of hosiery. I also really liked that this was thin enough to take up very little space for packing as we were trying to travel light.I’m really glad I decided to keep it. This top turned out to be fantastic for a cold weather vacation, worn as a base layer. In the end I had some tops/sweaters that had enough room to spare in putting on over this one and I was happy as a clam wearing it almost every day during a 9-day trip in 40-45 F temps. I’ve always lived in balmy FL and have no clue how to dress properly for cold weather, but staying warm was a big deal for me to be able to enjoy the trip so I was really putting a lot of confidence in this thing and it actually came through! It’s only a base layer - and a lightweight one at that - so naturally I had a sweater on top, and a thick fleece jacket over that but honestly I think it was the base layer (not the sweater or fleece) that made the biggest difference in being able to stay warm. I’m thrilled that it worked out.FYI I ordered the matching bottoms (Terramar Women's Thermasilk Pointelle Pant) with the same satisfactory result, as well as a MIDweight base layer set (32Degrees Women's Heat Thermal top and bottoms) for the slightly cooler days (30-40 F).

I chose these because the reviews stated that the fabric is very sheer and thin. Perfect for my needs! On a winter trip to northern Finland I wore wool base layers and these Thermasilks were the perfect barrier to avoid any itching or scratchiness from the wool fibers and to provide an extra layer for warmth. You don't even know you're wearing them. There is no bulk. I traveled with a carryon and backpack and these Thermasilks took up VERY little space in the suitcase. Very happy!

Fits very well; not tight but snug, doesn't pull. Good for a close to body base layer. Doesn't stretch so get the fit that works right out of box. Soft against skin doesn't chafe, smooth so the other layers won't bind up on it. Great for warmer temps by itself or under multiple layers for warmth. Hang dry for best performance, and no shrinkage.

This is silk. I’ve done burn tests on the fabric. If you want a very light sheer base layer, this is a great temperature regulating and of course, very breathable first layer to wear under wool. It’s real silk and as you can see real see-through, it will keep you comfortable with a couple hours on top if they are natural fibers. It’s the kind of silk that gets stronger when wet and a high quality product points off though it does snag very easy. to fix it you’ll have to get the garment wet and gently work out the snags.

These are the perfect added warmth to wear under clothing without the bulk. They keep you warm without overheating when layering!. I wash them and hang to dry to for longevity purposes. I was happy to find these since the brand I currently have no long sell them. I have these silk Tee"s in natural and black color. I will buy more next winter season!

I bought a large, and it is short but sleeves are long enough. Material is thin, but soft and does not irritate my admittedly over-sensitive skin. I agree (from N. Oregon) with "Montana" it is for layering, this is first layer. I put a sweatshirt over it and an Irish or British wool sweater over that (thick wool). Then going outside, still I would need a hat and an overcoat, wool socks, waterproof shoes. The pants are sold separately, I will try those next.I would not put it in a dryer, either, cold water and hang up on a wood hanger or lay out in front of a pellet stove or fireplace on a towel to dry. It might bleed, I would not wash it with white or light colours, cold water. So that part is maybe a bit of a hassle. OTOH, the price and convenience for getting 2 of them in the mailbox when I really hate the retail clothing experience, is priceless. If you want something more luxurious, pay more. If you are going to pay more try Ag textile, which is almost like silk and insulates quite well and also lasts until the silver wears off, 3 years or so.

These silk underwear provided the warmth and comfort I needed. The size was as described and fit was good. Good purchase!

I live in 100% silk undershirts in the colder months. The fabric breathes and it’s very soft and comfortable. I’ve never seen this wonderful blue/gray color available, it’s very rare, and I love the pointelle fabric. My order came very quickly, and I’ll be ordering again from this merchant (as long as I don’t get spammed with unsolicited emails)!

Received a complete set as a gift and liked it so much, I ordered an extra top. Keeps you warm no matter how cold your surroundings either worn under clothing or worn as pajamas. Have washed these garments many times on delicate cycle, cold water, hang to dry. Do NOT put in the dryer!!. Once by mistake,I used the dryer on low heat. Despite the shrinkage, the garment still fit since I had received and purchased a larger size XL at the outset. I am a size Medium, so the bottoms were nice and loose, however, the waistband elastic was a little snug. A woman who is actually an XL size may not be comfortable with the tight elastic on the bottoms. An expert sewer with a serger can likely replace the waist band elastic if need be. The top fits as it should. Order a larger size if you want these to fit looser on your body.
