I'm 3rd generation, 1/4 Syrian-American and hadn't tried halva before. I cross-referenced several brands and these individually wrapped bars looked good to me. I've had sesame candy and hummus made with tahini before and had a good idea of what this would taste like. Upon first impression, I thought the halva bars were chalky-creamy-weird, with the vanilla being sweet and palatable but I wasn't so sure about the chocolate. My tastebuds adjusted after about two bars of each flavor and I was hooked. Important to note that the chocolate has a toasted cocoa flavor with crunchy cacao nibs and it's not sweetened much at all, and you shouldn't expect a regular chocolate bar flavor profile. These are 2 grams of protein per bar as far as I remember, and pretty rich so it only takes a few to satisfy one's sweet tooth. One thing I wish these didn't have is hydrogenated oil in them, but I looked at other brands and they all appear to have this ingredient, which I imagine is for binding purposes and shelf stability. I really enjoy this halva and added the 2-pack to my subscription. I made my first bag last about three weeks.I also found out that we never had it because my dad was never fond of it (and he eats almost anything.) It's something I can keep around that he won't steal. If it were maamoul, forget about it! Lol

Came quickly, fair price, quantity. Good taste but not the flavor I expected.

Was introduced to halva in Israel. I love it and it's hard to find in my teeny town. I can't eat a large quantity because it is so rich, so these are the perfect size. Didn't give them five stars because the chocolate flavored ones have bits of coffee beans in it that are rock hard and I have to remove all the pieces. Don't know what they are doing in there, they don't add any flavor.

I grew up in the 40's and 50's when my dad would ration out halvah like Manna from heaven. We would be lucky to get a quarter inch slice. But it was Joyva Halvah ! This was not. For me it seemed to be lacking the key ingredient of honey which Joyva used as a binder. Or if it was there, it was minimal. I took a chance on this one because I liked the idea of bite sized pieces. Next time I'll get the original - JOYVA. Even their radio commercials back in the day said, "Don't just ask for halvah, ask for Joyva !" P.S. The chocolate was too bitter to eat.

I like halva but these were just too oily and off. I would have thrown the bag away but juuust in vase of apocalypse I threw the bag in a closet so there would be some emergency calories available. There was a beef jerky I'd bought online that didn't even rate that high and I'd sooner eat leaves or something. Anyway, I don't recommend this halva. The size is good but it's too oily and flavor isn't as good as most others.

These are so yummy. I haven't had them in forever, since my grocery store stopped carrying them. My parents are coming into town for Christmas, so I thought these would be a good treat. I'm going to have to buy another bag, because I'm totally addicted and can't stay out of them. The light and fluffy texture is exactly as I remember. The flavors are tasty and not overpowering. I like that they're individually packaged 2 bite pieces, but it tricks my brain into thinking I haven't had as much as I really have. 🤣 The price is great and the quality is there. I'd definitely recommend this product.

I love halva and don't get it often. I have been living in hospitals and rehab centers for a couple of years and the snacks offered are disgusting unhealthy crap. I have started creating my own snack stash and recently added this to my list. These things are so delicious and the perfect snack to reach for. Perfect size, perfectly satisfying. Little treasures. I share them with the nurses who are often working through their mealtimes and are hungry. It helps these Angels get over the hump until they can take their well deserved break.

I was searching high and low for a something edible candy like for my sister in law because she has been diagnosed with celiac disease so she has to have gluten free candy. I found these and thought they'd be perfect for a stocking stuffer for her. I opened them dumped them in her stocking and never really thought about them again. Then she opened her stocking on Christmas and she had one and was amazed at the taste that i had to try 1 for myself.Oh my gosh they are delicious! I think i found my new favorite candy. They're sweet but like coffee sweet so it's not obnoxious which is actually super dangerous. Between the 2 of us there wasn't nearly enough and next thing we knew we had eaten the whole bag. The vanilla is my favorite but the cocoa shouldn't be ignored
