You see loads of options with the crest and ploom facing the other direction, but I didn’t want another officer’s helmet, I wanted a Centurion’s helmet, and this is exactly what I was looking for!!! It has a chin strap too and fits great with a liner, I just tucked it while it’s on display.

The construction is not up to the standards of the pictures. The brow shade piece is thin, misalligned, and over lapping other helmet parts. The brass rivets are also misalligned and partially rusted. There are gaps like cracks in the metals. The brass ear plates and other trimmings are popping out, not smooth and spherical (as if it had been dropped and dented), and not fully bolted down. It has become a hazard for kicks and scratches, and the rust + poor welding is a risk for tetanus. Your hair will get ripped out one by one, and facial hair too. Also, the helmet was not fully polished and it came with a knicks and wear. The helmet is more like a pointed cone rather than a round sphere. So, it is hard to wear, because it does not sit on your head. the bottom edges. where the eyeline is, flares out rather than straight.The crest and helmet and crest connection is neither like the picture nor have a fork for it. There was no plume. Do not waste your money on this.Update:The inside is spray painted black, and it rubs everywhere. The leather is a very thin and smelly foam. The rod that holds the hinges fall out with ease. It is oiled with way too much red oil. The oil and the foam makes the helmet smell terrible. This thing is not wearable or displayable. The Nauticalmart customer service made no attempt to addressing the concerns, and wished that I pay 30 dollars to paypal for return shipping.Update: The helmet's countless jagged edges cut up my hands, ears, face, and blood was drawn. Oh, i also got some rashes from the helmet. I am not sure from what, but i suspect that it was the peeling paint. AVOID NAUTICAL MART. It is truly a nightmare. Also, quickly after the helmet was sent, I asked these guys to send me a decent product, which is fairly possible since all the materials are there, but the lack of effort made the helmet unwearable. They insisted that I return the product for 30 dollars, and there was no exchange for another. When, I posted this review up, they begged me to remove them (mind you, they did it in very broken english). I threw this helmet in the rubbish bin. I'd have smashed it repeatedly with a bunch of weapons, but i was afraid the metal and paint would give me the Bubonic Plague.

I purchased this for a character I was portraying. Because it was lined and ready to be worn I let people try it on after the performance, what a hit. Seems well made and reasonably priced. It's in my office now on a stand still turning heads.

This product is awesome. The craftsmanship behind it and the functionality of it is amazing.

For starters the helmet is asymmetrical, making it not nice to look at. The helmet is also not well balanced, it slides backwards unless you have the chinstrap really tight. The inside of the helmet is spray painted that was flaking upon delivery, a leather cap that broke the second time I put the helmet on, and when the leather breaks the screws holding the plume to the helmet dig into my head. I expected low quality for $90, but this is ridiculous. Review doesn’t even consider delivery delays of various sorts. I will not be buying from this seller again.
