What type of ant was it? I find that very odd that they would just die like that.

The Science Project That Turned Into a Soap Opera

Ants are drama queens, apparently. They got territorial. Built tunnels. One staged a coup. This gel connector worked perfectly with our ant farm and made the whole chaotic colony easier to watch. Very educational. Very stressful. 10/10.

Such a great ant farm For your children

The media could not be loaded. I ordered two of these for my son to start his any farm! Easy to assemble, good quality and durable and so entertaining. I even love to watch the ants working !

Great beginner ant farm! Only a few issues

This was my first attempt at starting an ant farm. After doing research online and figuring out the best way to start I went with two of these models set up side by side. As a trial run I grabbed a few worker ants from a mound outside. No queen.I would have given 5 stars but I bumped it down one for a few minor reasons.1) The base had a very slight crack on one corner. Still worked fine. Didn't impeded integrity, doesn't leak, and ants can't escape.2) The instructions for setup weren't super clear. Through trial and error I found out the ants cant climb the vertical tubes very well. I filled them up with dirt from outside and they went right to work tunneling through it and using it regularly3) The holes on the bottom of the feeding area are too big. Many of the smaller ants escaped after the first day or so. I taped a piece of paper to the bottom to keep them from escaping and it seems to be working just fine.Overall very happy with the farm and have been really enjoying observing their behavior.

It’s ok for kids

It’s ok I think the work area is to small there no way to open the top to rehydrate the sand, the ants will definitely just walk out , I think the nest and food area is poorly designed it just needs to be larger there’s to much sand for how little the ant farm is, good for kids I guess , not really good for anything serious

The media could not be loaded. This ant farmis easy to put together on day two the ants are making tunnels. My son is eight and says it's five stars. I can watch these ants all day. I bought two but only put one together will attach the second one later today I ordered the ants from Amazon some came dead and as you could see, there's plenty alive no queen tho . They r big it's fun to see them digging and carrying around chunk of sand. Fun for kids and adult adults. Would definitely get it for kids into animals and bugs and outdoors
