Does it braid your hair?

No it does not braid hair. It wraps strings in whatever colour you load in it and wraps the hair with the thread.

It was novel, but I would not buy it again.

I bought my granddaughter this braiding machine. Somehow the instructions got lost. Can you send me a copy by email or address?

Check with manufacturer. Amazon won't have a separate instruction sheet. Also, you might be able to download the instructions on the manufacturers website.

how do you get the thread out of the hair when you are done?

It can just be striped down by grasping the top of the string and pulling down the length of the hair that it is on.
