I loved every word and I’m glad I found this book.
I loved reading every word of this book. But I am so completely frustrated with how both the men in her life treated her. Have their IQs been tested? I’m sorry but I will never understand how either of these men ever did anything but thank their lucky stars every day to have a woman like Kamini. She is beautiful, intelligent, loving, loyal, I could go on and on. If I was a man, I would have been so grateful to have her. I would have done anything for her. I realize this is not supposed to be the big take away from this book. But I can’t help it.

I finally get it....
Finally. After spending literally had my life searching for happiness and believing it had to be in being married to someone else, I have just recently discovered that wasn’t true. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time, reading and researching books, looking for a way to understand what I have discovered, but still not finding anything that could help me comprehend what was in my head. Having trouble sleeping for many years, I started looking into yoga nidra and I bought her book “Yoga Nidra: The Art of Transformational Sleep”. I then looked at her other books and decided to read this. Reading through her relationship experiences, it was like reading about my own past. Her second relationship was exactly like my last marriage. Her explanation of “yin and yang” completely opened my eyes and offered me several, huge “aha” moments. A lot of other books might do this as well, but she goes on to explain what she got from all of the things she learned about herself AND how she incorporated it into her life. Finally. After years of struggling on my part...just, finally.

Honest and Wise
I only realized now, more than a year after reading Kamini's book that I never wrote a reivew which I'm so happy to do now. Kamini was my teacher well before I read her book, and throughout the 60 hour / 3 month training I completed under her tutelage I found myself wondering about her personal life. The reason I wondered is because I was so impressed by the content of the training program that I completed through her, and I knew that she was the creator of the program. This short book review can't adequately explain why I found her program to be so profound. And then I read this book which is all about her life... It provided a lot of insight about how she, the daughter of a famous guru, managed to forge her own very unique path. I appreciate her honesty, and admire how she navigated the inevitable ups and downs of the relationships in her life. And some of the details were fascinating! Her life is definitely book-worthy and I have a hunch that we haven't heard the last from this wise and talented author.

More than a love story
I was actually looking for Kamini's new book on Yoga Nidra when I found this one. I didn't realize she'd written it and I'm glad she did. There are many lessons here and for me, it was how applicable her experiences in relationships are to the world I experience in my professional/career life. That speaks, I suppose, to the universality of the principles that unfold as she tells the story of her life. For that reason, the title of the book is quite apt, it's not about a love life, but about life.

Clearly she is willing.
What hasn't been said about a well worn out subject like love and in this case spirituality and idealized perfection? Still Kamini is able to bring a simple clear voice to this worn out subject taking full responsibility for the outcome. It's a masterful teaching tool. Love is something we learn and continue to fine tune for eternity, thank goodness. I highly recommend this book for the confused and the movtivated and the perfectionist. For the rest of us; it's interesting to glimpse the world of ashrams and guru's and their families.

A story that breaks through loves illusions to personal reality
I have taken classes from this beautiful woman and was curious about the life that brought her to the place she is today. I wasn't disappointed. The story was captivating and uplifting - could relate to all of the twists and turns that happen as one grows up and eventually lands with self discovery. I was curious how she would integrate her father's teachings into her life. It would be a great gift to a young person beginning their "love life" providing guidance on the importance of finding happiness within their own self.

Great Mix of Spiritual Philosophy and Real Life
There simply could not have been a book written like this before now. The American daughter of an Indian Shakti Guru. If that alone doesn't make you want to read it, then I can also tell you that it's a great true-life-adventure and love story.James Abro, author, 'An American Yoga: The Kripalu Story'.[...]

Yoga for life off the mat
This book is a beautiful tale of living yoga that has nothing to do with asana, physical postures. I so appreciated the affirmation that, to live yoga we must first know and care for ourselves. We cannot be in relationship and of service to others until we fully acknowledge and love ourselves.
