TLDR; originally nervous about ordering unlocked phone; working great 1 week in
TLDR; originally nervous about ordering unlocked phone; working great 1 week in; fingerprint reader is mehFully unlocked Galaxy S20 Ultra (Renewed) ordered from thegadgetdeals on Amazon Marketplace to replace my Galaxy S9, which I have really enjoyed over the last 3 years but is now too slow and not enough storage for my liking. I went with the S20 rather than upgrading to an S21 primarily because of the expandable storage available with the S20 [I'm bummed Samsung is going away from this - it was one of the great things that set them apart from Apple... boooo!]. Anyway, Verizon has pretty much refused to restock their S21 Ultra 512 GB during the last 4-6 months, hence I ultimately pulled the trigger on this phone.Regarding the product according to the seller: arrived quickly and as promised. Few scratches on back cover that I care nothing about at all (expected as this is a refurb). Otherwise, seems in great condition. Came with a charger as promised. I was nervous about ordering unlocked phone as I have always purchased through my carrier, but I inserted my Verizon sim card, and it seems to be working great.Regarding the phone itself (S20 Ultra versus my old S9): FAST - by far what I'm happiest about. My old phone was really dragging in responsiveness. Front (selfie) camera noticeably WAY better. Rear camera - I'm sure is better, but I expected to notice a huge difference and other than the fact that I can zoom in a lot more, the quality when I zoom in isn't just over the moon better than my old phone (ie, on 8x zoom, photos from the 2 phones look similar). But I will say, the "live focus" that resembles the "portrait mode" of an iPhone makes me excited. Plus there's other nice features, like zooming out (wide view), etc. Overall happy with this. NEGATIVES..... my only complaint that I hope doesn't ruin my experience with this phone is the FINGERPRINT READER. The actual reader on the back of the S9 was seemingly perfect. I LOVED it - almost never had issues. Why, WHY?! did they go to a digital one. It seems to work fine without a case or screen protector. I've tried a few cases thus far that all claim to work well with the reader but NO. With case on, it works like 25% of the time (followed all the directions). And honestly, I'm not sure I blame the cases - seems like everyone is having issues with this. I'm ordering some screen protectors that have decent reviews and *fingers crossed*. Oh, also, this phone is big, like huge. I think (hope) I'll get used to it, but wow. Samsung, please review the size of female pockets before designing your next phone.

Excellent..... So Far
I ordered the S20 Ultra (renewed) in excellent to replace my aging S9. I was expecting delivery on Saturday and received it on Wednesday, earlier delivery is already a plus in my book. It did not come in an original Samsung package but I was not expecting it to so that is just fine. IN the box the phone was wrapped in bubble wrap and I received the Sim tray opening tool a charger and a charging chord. The phone was not fully charged but it had plenty of charge to get things set up and to still be good to go for quite a while if needed. The outside of the phone was perfect and the only thing really saying that this was not a brand new phone was that it did not have the manufacturer piece of plastic film on it to peel off.The phone appears to be running perfectly as well and runs a lot smoother and with more features of my old S9.All in all there was only one negative. When I plugged the phone into the supplied charging chord I did get a pop up warning message about the charger and checking all the connections would not solve the issue. The good news is that if I used one of my cables that I already have the phone happily charges with no issues. The charging block they sent works fine, it is just the actual USB C cable that is bad.Right now my new phone is sitting in the case I bought for it and is charging up. With the minor exception of that cable I am extremely happy with this purchase so far (it's been less than a day) and I am glad I made it, especially since the price is so much better than what I would pay for the new model or what I would have paid for this one if I bought it when it came out.

Refirbed with the lowest quality replacement parts
I am on my third s20 ultra from this company. The first one had charging issues right out of the box with a loose charging connection. Sometimes it would work sometimes it wouldn't. The rear glass on the first was obviously replaced and was cracked on arrival. I made due with it until the charging issue rendered it unusable. The second s20 ultra also had replacement glass on the rear however the camera did not work on this phone. I made due again until the same charging issue showed up again. Rma through Amazon and they sent me a third. This (current phone) s20 ultra has had a replacement screen which is a noticeable drop in the original quality from my others. The front screen flexes quite a bit with every touch. Also the back glass was a replacement and broke almost immediately when I was fitting a case onto it. Crack started at the side buttons and spidered out from there. The charger port is also becoming loose and beginning to be finicky for charging. The major issue with this one is that the wifi and Bluetooth have just failed. Both won't turn on even after network reset and factory reset. I am going to try to rma this one as well for a refund instead of replacement and I'll have to bit the bullet and buy a newer phone.

BEAWARE OF CAMERA ISSUES, other than that phone is great
I wanted to give this phone a 5 star as it deserves it. But I right off the bat, the main camera had focusing issues. I've read that it can be one of two things, a recent update that made the camera near useless and the focusing mechanism. In my case, I believe it to be the second. Shaking it back in forth a couple of times in order for the camera to focus. That being the only issue, once focused that images come in detailed and sharp. But that's the thing, you must focus it first.Wide shots work perfectly, 5x and 100x work, although not the best quality, but those were within my expectations. The selfie camera works perfectly aswell.Other than the camera being the main issue, the phone itself is great. With fast response time, and a good display with no burn-ins. The screen came in with a small, but almost unnoticeable scratch, but that's something I can live with. For a refurbished phone in excellent condition, this phone will be of use to me for the next couple of years. Hopefully.
