Professional quality artwork lighting at a reasonable price
The attached photos show a 6' x 4' painting. I had considered very expensive wide lamps, thinking I needed to light up the painting as if I were showing it in a museum for academic study. When I realized I only wanted to spotlight the face, I considered this device. The supplied bulb is a "flood" light and lit up too much of the room. I replaced it with a 50W equivalent "spot" LED bulb, and got the effect I was hoping for. The supplied bulb probably works well for smaller paintings with the lamp aimed more directly at them. The frame I have is deep enough to conceal a Wemo switch, though that took a custom power cable to complete. I got everything I hoped for: a good-looking but non-intrusive lamp, LED energy savings, and The Face automatically lit up every evening.

Too expensive for not being able to control this LED light
I wanted this for some paintings I have throughout the house. It needed a little bit of light to highlight them. But I can’t use them with anything to control them digitally. I had hoped I could dim these, so that my pictures would display the best.

A good spot solution if you have no rail system nearby, but ...
Typically i'd use an Aero head on a tech-lighting monorail, but sometimes a rail or FJ based solution isn't viable. I purchased two of these picture lights, and whereas i want to dislike them, the solution kind of works. The supplier MR16 is a dimmable DC or AC 12V bulb. The picture here is 24"x24" and you can get a sense of the lighting hot-spot created. The distance of the spot to the picture isn't adjustable, so yuou can judge if this would work for you.Where i have issues with this product:- it says 'satin nickel' but it is quite bright and cold, so i feel more aluminum or brushed chrome in finish. The spot light shield is polished aluminum.- the included 110V AC to 12V DC power supple is not dimmable, but can be easily switched out to a dimmable inline unit such as illuminous 12V 1A unit (ASIN# B00AH2OX5E)- the overall quality is sub-standard. i got the impression someone was bending coat-hangers to make this. No idea if it cost more than $5 to make, so $144 seems 'rich'- If you use metal frames you will need to insulate the fitting with electrical tape

Doesn't lash up. Parts missing. Or something ???
While its picture and prose are wonderful, the item is marginally acceptable. Except not usable. Swivel head does not match instructions. No spring clips as claimed in fig #1 of instructions. Swivel head a different design from the mish-mash of hype, instructions and item sent..

Perfect. Gets the job done.
Casts the perfect light on my artwork. This is my third time buying this item and if the need presents itself, I'll buy it again. I would prefer a dimmer switch instead of toggle but that is my only other comment, purely for personal reasons.
