It was pretty easy to install extra RAM (even under the keyboard)
Works well for me. It was pretty easy to install extra RAM (even under the keyboard). I decided to upgrade this to Win 10. The only minor annoyance was the FN and CTRL keys being switched in placement. I remapped the keys to alleviate that problem for me. This can be done in the UEFI BIOS.Update: After using this laptop for a while I am very impressed with the build quality. I take this on to construction job sites daily with the dirt and grime associated and it has been holding up. The battery life is extremely impressive for this machine and it give you a long notice when you are running low. I have made it through full days having forgotten my charger. For those using it on your lap, it does get a little warm on occasion.

Best Mobile CAD Workstation for price!
4.5/5 (-.25 for poor FedEx shipping, -.25 for other)This is probably one of the best workstation laptops out there for this price. Most laptops with similar configuration and quality still go for at least 2k, but I was thrilled to find this for much less. It is an excellent workstation built to handle just about anything.I am a student studying Architecture, so I needed something that could power through heavy CAD work, 3D-Modeling, CPU-Rendering, and heavy graphic design work. It handles each task like a champ, usually several at once.Intel Xeon E3 1505m Processor (2.8 GHz) - Super fast, powers though anything. Does not bottleneck on large operations (CPU rendering, Boolean operations etc.) where a lesser processor would have failed. It may not be clocked as fast as some processors, but it will certainly complete the operations without failure (which is more valuable IMO). I have thoroughly stress tested, and I have not been able to get the temps above 52C.16 GB DDR4 RAM - Super fast, does not bottleneck on large operations or files. Only one of the 4 available slots is filled, leaving room for plenty of expansions. I plan on purchasing another 16GB as soon as I can to unlock the full potential of this workstation. I know that I will benefit from it.NVIDIA Quadro M2000M video card - Performs very well for CAD and 3d-modeling. Performs better than expected for most games, it is by no means a gaming card, but it handles lower end games as well or better than a mid range GTX card.256GB Toshiba Opal 2.0 M.2 SSD - So happy with this SSD. Boot time is incredibly fast! Loading programs like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, faster than ever. I am not even mad that it only comes with the 256GB SSD, because getting the SATA adapter (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DXK5PAS/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_4) and installing a second SSD is incredibly easy. And for this price I can afford to expand the storage and memory as needed.1920x1080 FHD IPS display - Great display, with good color calibration, I would have like to at least get the 3k display, but I do not think the 4k display is worth it at this (15.6) size. The matte finish is fantastic, no glare! My single complaint about the screen is that the max brightness is a little low. For the first few day I had it, my eyes hurt a little.Great battery life (super heavy though)Overall this is an amazing workstation, and I am extremely happy with it.Features that I wish I had: 3k display, color calibrator, brighter screen, More storage and memory (not even mad, I can expand those)Great mobile workstation for graphics, CAD, etc.

HDMI port didn't work, sent in for repairs-
When I was shopping for a new laptop, I required an HDMI port. This machine has one. Too bad it doesn't work. I tested the machine at home and it worked fine on my display. But when I tried to hook up the HDMI for a client, Lenovo left me holding the bag-After the initial shock wore off, I went to the forums for help and realized that this is a known issue.I've wasted countless hours trying to upgrade firmware re-download drivers, ect, ect... The HDMI port still doesn't work.*UPDATE*I must give credit to the Lenovo repair department. They wasted no time in getting the machine back to me, in proper working order. Other than the HDMI port issue, I'm impressed...Raised to 2 stars

Had a few problems. Global warranty apparently don't cover China. Took a really long time to fix it after coming to the US. Stable and quiet once got it fixed.

LOVE it! I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Significantly better AND considerably cheaper than the top-of-the-line Macbook Pro.
I'm a long time, die-hard Mac user of over 20 years. This laptop is my second Windows machine since Windows NT and I have to say I am loving this machine and have not touched my Mac except to move a couple of files since I received it. I was looking at buying a new MacBook Pro, but the prices kept me from making the commitment. Then recently I looked at the system requirements for some software I need and saw that it (like so many other software titles) is Windows only and not only that but it's recommendations were for a fairly powerful Windows machine. None of the MacBook Pro's measured up to the recommended specifications - if I wanted to use this software (Arc GIS) on a Mac, I would have to do it on a desktop Mac and I would have to run the software under a Windows emulator (Parallels). I didn't want to do either of those things so I started looking at Windows laptops. One of the hardware recommendations I was looking to meet was an Intel Xeon processor, and the none of the MacBook Pro's have one, only the Mac desktops and servers do. After a little research I was excited to learn that three manufacturers (MSI, HP & Lenovo) made Windows laptops with Xeon processors! After looking at the specs for both the Lenovos, HPs and MSIs I decided on the Lenovo because for the price, it had better specifications than a comparably spec'd HP, plus it had the longest warranty overall, better build quality (MilSpec!) and reportedly didn't get as hot as the MSI. This particular machine was also about $400 less than the MSI, so the decision was an easy one. And a month later I still have a smile on my face every time I think about how much more machine I got for significantly less money than a Mac. This machine is FAST, quiet, has a beautiful display and more neat features than I care to mention. I'm still thoroughly smitten! I never imagined I could be so happy with a Windows-based computer. Oh - and it runs Windows 10, which is, in my opinion, a solid competitor to Mac OS X from a user-interface perspective.
