Bose Sport Earbuds - True Wireless Earphones - Bluetooth in Ear Headphones for Workouts and Running, Glacier White

I didn't even realize these were brand new when I ordered them. I just needed new earbuds for working out, and Bose is my go-to audio brand, because every other brand I try will almost always have something I can't stand about it. I first want to point out that I come from a very old pair of wired Bose earbuds that were in such bad shape that the wires were exposed just below the buds -- not good when you're sweating during a workout while wearing them! So I went shopping... I first found the previous model of true wireless Bose buds -- the ones with the left bud cutting out issue. A quick tour of the Bose website led me to these instead. Unboxing was nice. Premium packaging for a premium product. Buds had about 60% charge upon unboxing -- good enough to test them out. Biggest setup gripe: needing an app that requires location privileges and an account to use them. I generally prefer not to give away personal data just to use an expensive product. Bose, if you're reading this -- this is a serious issue for me, and I'd greatly appreciate not needing that account to use a product I paid $180 for. Calls: If you want to know how calls sound, don't look at me. I don't do calls on headphones, and it's not a feature I care about. I bought these specifically for music playback. Audio: Typical Bose quality audio. Slightly less impressive than my old wired Bose buds, but that's to be expected. Bluetooth isn't the best standard for true high quality audio. But these have just enough bass (not punchy, so if you like heavy bass, you probably won't like these), to not overwhelm everything else. Very balanced sound, overall. Connectivity: Just like my old Bose BT speaker, these connect fast and after several hours of continuous music playback, not a single blip or drop. Just perfect performance. Controls: I love the auto music pause when I pull the right bud out of my ear. That's awesome. I almost wish it worked with both, as I tend to pull the left out more often than the right. I also love the double tap customizable action. I set it to check the battery level for now. It's a nice added feature. Fit: Some people love the way Bose buds fit, others hate it. I'm in the love-it camp. I've been in love with it since my old wired buds became the only headphones I'd ever use. They sit in just the right place to give awesome sound without putting ridiculous pressure on your ear canal, while simultaneously becoming almost impossible to actually feel once in. If you can't keep them in your ears, you're wearing the wrong size of the 3 silicone parts (or you need one bigger or smaller than what they make, which is definitely possible). For the record, I use the smallest of the 3. When I put these in, I push them in relatively straight and then twist to lock them in place, tucking the silicone part under my ear fold last. Since I've worn the Bose style for a long time, it's something that's natural to me. If you're new to it, it might take some getting used to. If all you know are the kind that shove into your ear canal, these will feel like they're going to fall out. They won't! The only thing I wish is for the charging case to support wireless charging. But I can't complain about USB-C. I've only used these for a few hours so far, but they went through 2 workouts plus some actual work (I'm a jewelry artisan, and I actually wore these at my workbench while running my flex shaft, soldering, and other tasks. It's a joy to not need to worry about wires!). I will update this review if anything changes, but based on my first 3-4 hours of use, they're 5 stars. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

there are a million options for bluetooth in ear headphones. these are the absolute best. ignore reviews that say it is missing this or that functionality. Why? because bose and sony sell other models with all of the functionality you could wish for! want noise cancelling? just buy that version! adding better controls, noise cancelling, all the stuff these don't have costs more and makes the products bigger and the cases bigger and brings a ton of issues of their own. with noise-cancelling earbuds you'll hear a wind noise etc or it won't work right. Personally I only care about sound quality and comfort, and these are the perfect balance. they feel great in your ears, so much so that you can wear them all day. the soft fins make it so it is really hard for them to come out accidentally. bluetooth connection is PERFECT not only that the buds know when you take them out and disconnect. I read a critical review that hinged on having to have the case to reconnect. I've had this experience only if I fumble around with them and put them in and out of the case really quickly. the big complaint was that they were running without the case and couldn't re-link it. this seems silly to me since the case is so small it is not a big issue to carry it if you feel like it. also the connection / reconnection thing works totally flawlessly. the battery life is amazing! the reviews and description don't give a good sense of how great it is. the headphones yes have 5-8 hour battery life, but the case also has a battery, so when you set them in the phones recharge. this creates kind of a loop so that the phones charge off the case constantly. I never notice the battery going down and I have to charge the case something like once a week. they wouldn't say that in the description but it is something like 7 days of continuous use! Personally I think noise cancelling in in-ear headphones is kind of stupid. It can't be as good, uses more power, and do you really want that in a sport earphone? I like to be a little bit aware when I'm running so I can hear cars. having it in your ear blocks a ton of sound anyway. the silicon tips are reason enough to buy these. they have a wide flange so they aren't intrusively stuck deep into your ears. in-ear always grosses me out because they collect earwax but since these rest on a wider surface they don't go far into the ear canal and make a soft seal so you don't have that problem. the wingtips are silky smooth and won't hurt your ears at all. If you like to listen to music while you work or work out these are perfect. plus they are waterproof and discreet. I love wearing just one and listening to podcasts, it is totally hidden by my hair and makes it way easier to talk on the phone. seriously don't listen to people complaining about these and read the complaints carefully. do you really want noise cancelling and phone controls on both buds? go ahead and buy that model. It is way bigger, not waterproof, and noise cancelling is annoying. If you want the perfect earbud for working out and daily use you found it.

I LOVE THESE EARBUDS!! I am a very active male adult. I have researched tru wireless earbuds for several years now and have watched the evolution closely. I am also a professional musician and have had Bose speakers in my arsenal in the past and know they are top quality. When I finally pulled the trigger on a pair of tru wireless earbuds, Bose hadn't come out with an option yet so I purchased a set from a reputable company with great reviews. I did enjoy them and the sound was good. My main concern was keeping them in my ears. I run, bike, crossfit, lift, hit the heavy bag, etc. I found the pair would come out during the heavy bag workout and started coming out during runs. One day one bud stopped working. The company replaced the earbuds with no problem and that was great. My new pair still had the issue with staying in and after a couple years one of the backs just fell off. The company said they needed to investigate the claim so not knowing how long that would take, I went ahead and purchased this set of Bose tru wireless earbuds that I had been looking at for some time. I got my Bose earbuds, tried them out, and I wish I could have gotten these from the get go. These earbuds are so comfortable and indeed stay in. They sound AMAZING!!! I literally wish I could wear them all the time. They look great and I love that they block out the outside noise. The touch controls are awesome and easy to set up. The only thing I have any issue with is the syncing. Sometimes the right earbud wont sync out of the case so I have to put it back in the case, shut it, open it, and then it usually syncs the second time. I fully expect to enjoy these buds for a long time to come.

Update (10-29-21) I have made the decision to keep these and highly recommend to those looking for fit, comfort and sound quality. If you have the sound quality issue I had in the original review you could always return them. Look, controls and app are kind of primitive, in fact once set up I deleted the app. However, the Sound can not be beat and this is what its about, sound quality. Now lets take this one step further, remember these are "work out buds" ? Well, let me say that they are comfortable as heck and the ear pieces that come with them are quite unique so no matter what you do you will always have a good seal and they will stay in your ear! Long story short, I would highly recommend these to anyone, whether they want sport buds or not. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 are the way the controls work (but you will get the hang of them) and the primitive app (which I dont really much care about) If you want something smaller check out the Jaybird Vista 2, great buds too, just different ways. I am enjoying the sound of these Bose. Update (10-25-21) I have seen some reports on the same issue I have been experiencing, I can not confirm this but its possible the sound quality takes a dive after the firmware update which when you download the app you are forced to do. Some have reported what I have experienced. (KEEP in mind at first I heard great sound then it went bad so returned them and got another and still have issues, sometimes good sound and other times bad.) Out of the blue the earbuds sound quality becomes so compressed that some speculate phone compression in the earbud is being activated when listening to music. I have no idea if this is the issue and no experience in this area but it does seem plausible, for some reason the sound becomes warm and flat, void of upper midrange and treble. Anyway, some people said their solution would be to put the earbuds back in the charging case and then remove right away and replace them back in your ears. They say this fixes it. I dont know if this is true but I have tried it and I do know right now they are working great, the only thing is I cant confirm that placing them back in the case and removing is the reason. Anyway, what I have now is that "Bose" sound back and very satisfying I removed the app from my phone and using them without the app. I figured I would try them out this way for a while before considering returning them. I suppose a call to tech support could help, maybe they are aware the firmware update is bad? Possibly be able to replace it with the older working firmware? I dont know, we will see. It was good that I found other comments related to my experience. Who knows? maybe bad luck, but shouldn't happen. I would recommend someone try them out, you have nothing to lose but if you have sound quality issues then just return them, dont look back and go to another brand, but if they work and keep working I think my long review says it is worth it or I wouldnt be trying so hard. They are really comfortable and when working right sound great. I can easily overlook the less then robust phone app and touchy/flakey controls on the earbuds themselves. Or you could just go right to the Jaybird Vista 2 which is another great earbud, that one is a keeper for me but I also like a second set and trying to make these Bose work. (Original review below) So disappointed in these Bose Sport Earbuds, This is my second set after returning the first set directly to Bose thinking the set I got was defective. Well, guess what, this set will be returned to Amazon. These earbuds could have been great, super comfortable and best of all they fit perfect, even for me who sometimes has issues with earbuds coming loose in my left ear. I could do anything in these buds, working out, working around the house and they stay perfect, as well as super comfortable. Just the fact that a company like Bose can turn out a product like this makes me loose all respect for the company and I have known their products since the 901 series 2 many decades ago. I also lost all respect for the so called "review sites" that praise these earbuds with links to sell them to you. Lets face it, the Bose name, makes people feel safe, well, they won't when people like me can show you products like Jaybird Vista 2, Beats Power beats Pro, JBL Reflect Mini NC with far superior sound quality and much smoother operation. Negatives = 1. Sound quality is way to warm, percussion instruments sound like they are in the next building, muffled and distant. 2. Touch controls are primitive, yeah, once you practice a week or two you can get it pretty good. But OMG I must activate SIRI on my iPhone XR a dozen times a day when all I want to do is adjust the volume, which by the way, adjusts in far too apart increments. 3. I don't understand the equalizer, something I would expect from a third rate product, has hardly any effect on the missing midrange and upper midrange/treble. 4. Just a miserable experience from the touch controls to the one size fits all app, to the obnoxious sound quality. 5. Battery life isn't the greatest either. Positives = 1. Super comfortable and stays in place, pure genius the way these sit in your ear. 2. Nice case 3. Quality feel Summary, If you REALLY need a good fitting earbud where other buds give you a problem these will most likely solve that problem. Don't expect much from the app which is ok with me. I just could not get over the over the top "warm" sound quality but maybe its something you make like but avoid at all cost if you like to hear the crips tones of percussion instruments, symbols ect. Voice comes out ok, front and center, even if warm, don't expect much emotion in the voice. Everything else sounds like its in the next building. Call me crazy, don't know what they were thinking or who was in charge of this earbud development because they forgot about sound quality. I think its so bad it will turn me off to the brand. Way overpriced if you are expecting top quality sound.

1-YEAR UPDATE AT BOTTOM... I've used the Bose SoundSport Bluetooth headphones for years (three different purchases) and loved them! I lost my last pair and had to buy another set, but they're no longer available new (only used), so I had to go with this option of the Bose Sport Earbuds. I was skeptical about the purchase, just on the fact that there's no wire, so it would be easy for one to fall out and lose it in the grass or snow, or set it down somewhere and lose one, but I came to find out the problems are actually far more numerous than that. A list of problems I've discovered: 1. there is no way to fast forward or reverse any song or podcast you're listening too: you just have to listen to it as it's streamed to you. If you need to re-hear something, you have to go back to the beginning, or unlock and open up your phone just to scroll back to where you wanted to re-hear something. With the previous SoundSport headphones, you could hold down the button to fast-forward, but not with these. 2. There is an option in the left earbud to either skip forward a track, or back a track, but not both. With the previous SoundSport headphones, you could double-click to skip forward a track, and triple-click to go back a track; but they won't let you do that with taps on these earbuds: you have to pre-define what you want a double-tap on the left earbud to do, and then that's what you're stuck with, and no option for triple-tapping anything. 3. The auto-play / auto-pause feature seemed like it worked great at first, until I realized that when I take them out and set them down somewhere, they sense the table-top and start playing again, even though it's not in your ear. So I just had to disable that feature anyway. So it's pointless / useless. 4. It says it goes into standby mode when you take it out of your ear, to conserve battery power; however, when I disabled the auto-play / auto-pause feature, and ensured it was not playing when I took it out of my ear, it still drained the batter every bit as fast as if it were actively playing in my ear, and so the battery drained long before I was ready for it. So the standby feature does not work. 5. There is no off switch. As an addendum to point number 4 above, the only way to get these to turn off is to first put them inside their designated charging case, and also to close the lid on that case. Then they will power off. On the previous Bose SoundSport headphones, you could hold the powerbutton for 4 seconds and it would power down (with an audible tone to let you know it did that), or else they would auto-power off after 20 minutes of not actively playing anything. That power button and auto-off feature worked on those SoundSport headphones; but without a power button on these, and the standby mode not working correctly, these batteries drain way too quickly as a result. With all of the above said, I'll circle back and repeat that these are not wired together like the Bose SoundSport headphones were, so it's going to be much easier for them to fall out and get lost. Or it's just annoying to have to hold onto it if you take it out of your ear to start talking to someone; whereas, with the SoundSports, you could just let go of it, and it would rest hanging over your shoulder on the attached wire. Other than that wire, speaking in terms of software programming, there is zero reason why they can't incorporate all the tap / control features with these to match how it was with the Bose SoundSport headphones, but apparently the newer team designing these didn't want to talk to more experienced people on the proven SoundSports, and so they made an inferior and problematic product. As typical with Bose, the sound quality itself is awesome! But, aside from that, I'm very dissatisfied with this purchase: it's grossly overpriced for what I've gotten, and all I want is my Bose SoundSport headphones back! Why did they have to discontinue such a great product and replace it with a crappy one? I definitely would NOT purchase these Sport Earbuds again, as they exist today. _______ UPDATE AFTER USING THEM FOR ONE YEAR: The left earbud battery no longer works. And I haven't even used these that much. The battery in that one won't hold a charge. So I only have sound in my right ear now. Not to mention, if you don't use them for a couple weeks, the battery gets completely drained, to zero percent. The old SoundSport ones never did that. You could leave them for several months, and they'd usually still have 70-80 percent battery left. These newer "Sport Earbuds" are junk compared to the old model, SoundSport. And, after using them for a year, I would again highly recommend you do NOT buy these. Find a different brand that actuallys still makes quality products, so you don't waste your money.

I've had these headphones for three months now and I absolutely love them. I am not a very picky guy when it comes to headphones but I need great sound quality. And these headphones deliver wonderfully. I wear them whenever and I use them for audiobooks, podcasts, and music. They are very very secure in my ear when I work out and doing the jerkiest of movements. But because they are so secure they get uncomfortable after a few hours. But that's after a few hours so who cares. My ears have some new cauliflower so that also plays a role in discomfort. I wear an ear bud when I got to bed but they're not designed for that and it actually uncomfortable unless I sleep in a certain position. But these headphones were not designed for sleeping. I would love to try the Quite Comfort Earbuds and see if they are as comfortable sleep as advertised. My pros: Great sound quality, clear microphone, water proofed for shower, firm fit, super easy to use, and did I mention sound quality?? Also USB-C is an amazing feature and the fast charging is so nice because I use the headphones constantly. My Cons but I mean come on not one headphone is perfect: -Sleep is uncomfortable (not designed for sleep also I should get out of that sleep habit) -Occasionally takes a minute to connect to both earbuds but this is rare. -Firm fit, which is needed for workouts can hurt after a while, being a few hours that is -I really wish, you know since they're Bose and all, it would connect to both my phone and PC simultaneously. That's my biggest downer. -No volume control or backwards skip but easy to live without, not a huge deal. Overall great earbuds for all rounded use or workouts. GREAT sound quality and fast charging my gosh. the USB-C is super nice.

Ordered these headphones two months ago when they released. I'm a pretty serious cyclist and I have used these nearly daily for my rides, which last anywhere from two to six hours. I also live in a tropical part of the US, so I tend to sweat a lot. Before these earbuds, I was using Shure wired earbuds for my rides. Those earbuds were not necessarily meant for my type of training, especially when I sweat as much as I do when I ride. I landed on the Bose SoundSports for their proposed protection from sweat and their earbud design. I have used Bose SoundSports a couple of generations ago and I always preferred their emphasis on fitting the concha of the ear as opposed to the traditional inner ear canal fit. Pros - * The fit is quite comfortable for me. I cannot stand traditional IEMs for their extremely uncomfortable fit (just my opinion), especially if I plan on using them for several hours straight. The size earbud I chose is close to the original SoundSports I used four years ago. After a couple of rides, I could hardly feel them. The tight fit also prevents any wiggle room or potential for falling out, so when I'm in the drops or sprinting I'm not concerned at all about these running away. * They are not completely sound-proof, which is great for me when I need to listen to traffic and other people while riding. This means I can start a ride wearing these and not have to take them off other than to talk to people and to take breaks. * The automation is really useful actually. Automatically detecting when the right earbud has left my ear to pause music, then detecting when I put it back on to resume music is probably my favorite of this aspect. Answering calls by putting on the earbud is okay too, but in reality by the time you open the case and put on the earbud (plus the time it takes to connect to your device) your incoming call has probably already ended. But, going back to the first bit of automation, there's honestly no better feeling than riding up to a friend, taking out the right earbud, and stopping your music with little to no effort. I'm sure other earbuds do this too, but I'm new to the true wireless scene. * The touch controls make riding without pulling out your phone an easy feat. The option to skip tracks with a double-tap on the left bud, play/pause with a double tap on the right bud, and now a swipe up or down to adjust the volume all help me keep my attention on the road. * The call quality is amazing, according to everyone I call while wearing these. I speak softly and mumble sometimes out of habit, but these earbuds adjust and pick up even the softest of rumblings I might mutter. They also amplify my voice enough to be heard by everyone involved in a call, thus improving my ability to articulate points beyond belief. These earbuds have made it into my daily carry because of this. * So far, these have been completely impervious to sweat. I'm almost afraid that I'm going to break them in time because since buying them two months ago I have not had a need to clean them in any way (besides the actual rubber earbuds). Hopefully, these will continue to resist all the sweat I throw at them (which is a lot considering that I wear jawbreaker glasses and have helmet straps pooling sweat around my ear). * The battery life is strong and perfect for my use. Since my typical training ride lasts anywhere from 1:45 to 2 hours, I never have to worry about battery life. Even during my extra long rides, I can very easily take a break from my music, let them charge for 30 or so minutes, and continue my ride without care for battery life at all. In-betweeners - * The sound quality is a bit more trebly than the Shure earbuds I used. This isn't necessarily a bad thing for me. I definitely don't mind more or less bass than usual. Some people might choose against these for this reason. * Being a Bluetooth device, the connection between the earbuds and your device cannot always be perfect. I went from using wired to wireless and I had to learn this the hard way. I believe it's a fact of life for me now, but this is something that will only get better with time (I hope). Intermittently, my music will cut in and out as if I'm getting a call, then resume as normal. My phone also seems to be the culprit with a lot of other Bluetooth issues. Using IP voice comm apps like Teams or Discord will cause the microphone to produce this "shrill noise". I can work around this by using those apps on my work phone instead, so I definitely don't blame the earbuds at all for this. Otherwise, the call quality is excellent. * These are very reliant on the Bose app. Because I am just getting into the latest generation of Bose products, I was really unaware of this aspect before buying the earbuds. Not saying this would've deterred me, but it does make joining the product to other devices a little more complicated. It's definitely possible to connect these earbuds to your phone without the Bose app, but doing so makes you lose out on all of the extra functionality and the earbuds play at a much lower volume than they're capable of with the Bose app. Cons- * Taking calls with these earbuds while riding a bike is not possible. The wind blasting into the microphones renders them completely useless during calls, so every call I get (depending on the urgency) will require me to pull over and take a break. This happens at speeds as low as 10-15 mph, so really these cannot function for calls whatsoever while riding a bike. * While I praised the fit initially, in the beginning, I did have issues finding the perfect size earbud for me. The type of earbud has changed from the earlier generations of Bose SoundSports to now, so I did have a hard time adapting to the different fit. My ears were a bit sore in the beginning, but, as I said before, I eventually adapted and now I can hardly tell I'm wearing them. There's honestly not a whole lot more I can say about these earbuds. This is all just off the top of my head... All in all, these earbuds have out-preformed in almost every way I expected. I bought them really only to listen to music on my rides without being burdened with a wire, and now I can't imagine not using them daily for calls and such.

update: they worked great until they didn't. just stopped working 100% zero sound,zero everything. tried charging, reset,searched web how to try reset etc ..still zero dead no more nada.. can see white lites but no working. I rearch out to seller. will update after outcome. would like return try another pair. maybe I get a bad one? lets see... For me Bose is best by far.. build quality,fit, quick connect, pause,start etc. I use 90% for gym never a prob with fit, never falls out. The sound is awesome. Clean, bass, high,low..Rock, disco, gym grind or acapella. They also help block (some) of the to loud gym music most gyms have blasting. So that is also a plus. Even If just in you ears no volume I would say cuts maybe 10%?? of the gym music volume for those that like loud music while training but not so loud your ears suffer.. I have tried many brands from cheap to expensive Bose takes me to another place when I wear em. hope this helps... ps also LONG batt life just put em back in the case the recharge and good to go...maybe charge the case once a week?
