Fabbri Amarena vs Roland Dried Cherries
We use Fabbri Amarena cherries in cocktails at home and tried these to compare because they are much cheaper. While the variety of cherry might be the same the texture and moisture level are quite different. The Roland cherries come in a minimal amount of syrup and are best described as candied. They are too wet and sticky to really be called dried fruit and you wouldn't use these to make a trail mix; you also probably don't want to eat them straight from the tub, either. They are fantastic however in baking and I have made some great muffins and quick breads with them. For cocktails we prefer the Fabbri Amarena cherries for cocktails. They have a much richer flavor and a softer texture. We use the leftover syrup for ice cream.

A favorite treat
I've bought these several times and will continue to do so. They are candied. No doubt about that. They are sticky and moist and there is a very modest amount of syrup that is included at the bottom. Just like the picture. We love them in drinks and on ice cream. They are very good tasting for the price. Unopened you can just keep them on your shelf. Once opened keep them in the fridge unless you are going to eat them quickly. They will mold. We put the last batch in a jar and topped it off with bourbon. It was outstanding. As long as you don't expect something like the peerless Luxardo cherries or like raisins, you'll probably be happy.

Amazing flavor, lovely texture and a product that can be used as a pastry filling, a topping for ice cream.
This product is AMAZING! I have already recommended to others to buy it.The flavor is intense and delicious. It was all I could do to not tuck in and eat more than I should. This morning I made cheese blintzes and spooned a few cherries and some syrup on each one.The only comment, YUM! This can be used as a pastry filling, a topping for ice cream. It is extremely versatile. I have so many ideas of how to use it.

Taste Amazing
I bought these to make a Dundee cake.I thought they were the bright red candied cherries. They weren’t. They look natural, dark, and shiny and tastes like a cherry should taste. i didn't try to ditch the little liquid in the bucket. i just scooped them out. They aren’t as pretty as glace’ cherries but the are heavenly in baking. Especially with all the Almond flavor has n a Dundee cake. They are a GREAT value. Super good flavor.

Get the party started!
About a 50/50 blend of intact cherries that can be used as a visible garnish. The rest are great for muddling. Great taste, perfect for an Italian Cherry Old Fashioned. Be aware, this is a large amount of cherries, so find uses for them. I recommend drowning some in rum or whiskey.

A TREAT for your Senses
Oh My Gosh, You haven't had maraschino cherries until you have these. They are FANTASTIC. I first had these in Sicily when I was stationed there. Now that I found them on Amazon, this is my go to place to buy. Any way you use them, can not be wrong. I buy the big tub and parcel them out in cute little decorated mason jars as gifts. The only drawback would be if you are watching your carbs or are diabetic = 1 carb per cherry Ouch! But worth it for a splurge and they keep forever.

Excellent for cocktails
These are great. Sure, there are some cherry bits in the tub, but that’s fine with me. I took the bucket, dumped them into a colander, and rinsed off the syrup. Rinsed out the bucket and put the cherries back in. Added a bottle of maraschino liqueur and let them sit. I need to add more maraschino as the level has dropped with the cherries absorbing it. I use them as a garnish for cocktails. I will definitely get these again.

Poor quality for cocktail garnish
My package of cherries was mostly broken bits.
