does this fan oscillate?

No, not at all. But it's not really intended to do so. Think of this less like a "fan" that blows air straight on you. It certainly does that, but it's column of air is so narrow and direct that it's not really ideal for that. Rather, think of this as a circulator. Point it at the wall above your bed and there will be no fight over who is getting the better end of the fan because it will legitimately spray the air from where the fab is located to wherever it is pointed. Point it from the floor to near the corner of the ceiling and wall above your bed and everything and everyone along that wall will get bathed in air, lam to he while everything in the room is mixed as if I a perfect air burrito. No chinks of warm air. Just everything perfect.

Does it have an oil port on the motor?

Had this fan for 5 years, and it is one of the best fans you can buy. Problems are it doesn't oscillate, and the fan gets full of dust. Recently the fan started making a noise and the fan blade was not moving. Took the fan apart including the motor and motor housing. Cleaned all of the dust out and sprayed some of the plastic parts in the shower with hot water. The motor rotor was still not spinning, so lubricated both ends of the rotor rod with wd40, and it is back to new again. Have the Vornado heater, and that's a nice product. Looking for another large Vornado fan with a stand and oscillation, remote.

Does anyone use this fan to force cool air from downstairs, up into the warmer second level of home, by placing it near the foot of a staircase?

I have this fan on the floor of a room that sits below a balcony hallway. I have the fan pointed to move the cool air up into the higher spaces. It seems to move a large amount of air pretty quickly and relatively quietly compared to other fans twice its diameter. It quickly mixes the cooler air from below with the warmer air up in the high spaces to even out the temperature. I have an ecobee system with multiple temperature monitors. When I turn on the fan the temperature in the upstairs drops by two or three degrees in about 10-15 minutes.

Is this fan 240v compatible? I'm contemplating ordering this for use in Australia

Hello Jonathan, 660 model (and all Vornado models) motor has been re-worked for Australian Consumers. Do NOT buy the 120V model if you are using it in Australia. The 120V model only works for a couple of hours in Australia before the motor blows. This model is available in Australia. Please go to www.vornado.com.au and search the where to buy section. It may be a bit more expensive however, it worth spending a bit more than flushing $74.99 down the drain. Hope this helps.

Nice product

Nice product. Good for a room abt 300 sqft. Does it’s job. Only problem is it starts at max speed first, then we have to slow it down. Biggest issue was it took about 5 weeks to get the product. Customs issue I believe. And the product is 110V specs. But seller sent a 220- 110V converter for it, which was a very nice gesture.

Brought it in india thinking it would cool the room

It does not bounce air off the walls and make the room cooler but it is silent and when faced directly at you, gives a lot of cold air somehow even tho it's very hot. Not worth the high expenses however, a pedastal fan can do somewhat the same job for a way cheaper rate. I will say, a pedastal fan cannot produce cold air like how this fan does, it's like a mini low budget a/c. Dogs seem to love it compared to a pedastal fan because it is silent, gives cool air and the air does not feel very direct on their nose or ears. It is also portable and easier to carry around compared to a pedastal fan. I like it using it for the cold air but I do now think the value equals to the amount paid for it

Does this fan work with a voltage converter?

I also ordered one, which is yet in transit. Want to know from the fellow reviewers that whether this thing works properly with a voltage converter here in India. Because I got to know that the frequency will still remain at 50Hz whereas the product requires 60Hz.

No te lo apuntes directamente , debe ser apuntado a un muro para dejar circular el aire, La verdad es que es muy bueno y silencioso En Guadalajara con una temperatura de 30C , funciona muy bien, refresca y en velocidad 1 por la noche ni lo notas y si hace circular el aire, no es un minisplit pero te deja dormir mientras te refresca, si eres muy obeso/a seguramente necesitas otra alternativa
