Simply the best!
This has to be my all time favorite album. If you love mathcore, djent, or metal at all then this is a must have. In this album there is intense polyrhythms and blast-beats that will move the soul. Spencer Sotelo has to be the most talented vocalist that ever lived.

Periphery Album Review
I've already listened to this album prior to buying the vinyl on here, but it was such a great album that I wanted it on vinyl! One of the coolest things about the purchase was the neon blue record and the affordable price! Great band overall!

Killswitch Engage, step it up.
People who are checking the reviews on an album like this are probably familiar with the band Killswitch Engage, whose album "Alive or Just Breathing" is almost single-handedly responsible for kicking off the metalcore movement. Their ability to shift gears from hardcore complete with screaming vocals that sometimes roared to a desperate and somber tenor that sometimes soared was second to none, which is why Jesse Leach left the band natch. Their replacement singer came with a replacement musical direction: they got softer and simpler with every album they released, dissolving into a black sugary substance meant to be spread onto a Lady Gaga LP and eaten. Don't worry, the vinyl is technically vegetarian.Fast forward to last year, April specifically, and these dudes release this album. I normally despise "it's like x mixed with y" descriptions but I'll post it as a tl;dr. Hint: the y is Protest the Hero. The actual truth is that Periphery doesn't quite come together as well as it could in some areas, but there's a combination of factors in their favor: when they're spot-on, they're incredible; and they do a great job of sounding like they're almost Killswitch Engage's jerk older brother showing off how much better he is at guitar than you. Even then, I can't give it a full five stars because the band constantly feels like they're holding back, like they're afraid of breaking the universe if they play too well.Pros:- Light is gosh darn awesome.- Once you get past the intro area of Buttersnips, it too is awesome.- Racecar is as a whole a fantastic album outro.- Icarus Lives! is deceptively catchy, again once you get past the intro.- Matt Halpern's drumming is very proficient and consistently interesting.- Spencer Soleto's vocals are quite an upgrade from their previous vocalists.Cons:- Extremely unfortunate song titles.- The talking part in Icarus Lives!- Solos can be very underwhelming at times.- Racecar is overly long.- The Walk gets boring during the intro.- General unevenness between good parts and lackluster parts in songs. Also for reference these are some other bands I would group these guys in with:Killswitch Engage (previously mentioned)Protest the Hero (previously mentioned)"[...]"-era and forward PitchshifterThe Ocean's latest albums "Heliocentric" and "Anthropocentric""Destroy Erase Improve"-era Meshuggah"Digimortal"-era Fear FactoryTesseract, Animals as Leaders, other "djent" bandsIf you are a fan of bands along the lines of Bring Me the Horizon, Atreyu, Shadows Fall, et al then this is also worth your attention. This may provide the gateway to enjoying the bands listed above.Highlights of the album: "Letter Experiment", "Light", "Buttersnips", "Icarus Lives!", "Ow My Feelings", "Racecar".Periphery, if you're reading this: Please improve your song titles and also please have album titles that are similarly high quality. Misha, go nuts on the solos. Play solos through the chorus for all you care. Tear it down! Everyone else, good hustle, looking forward to whatever new tunes follow these still very enjoyable tunes. Thank you for sharing this.

Nice pressing
Not my favourite of theirs, but I needed it to complete my collection. Bonus that it’s a red pressing - would have preferred the blue/white splatter but apparently this one is an “Amazon Exclusive”. Sound quality is excellent, LPs are nice and flat, and includes a download card. I only wish they’d have used a gatefold sleeve rather than a standard one.

Sehr gutes Progressive-Experimental-Djent-Whateva Album.
