Pop with a more urban sound.
I just recently got into Britney Spears and I’m glad I did! Britney is a good album, this was her first attempt at a more urban approach. There are R&B influences that make it less bubblegum pop/teen pop sounding. One of Britney’s best tracks (Overprotected) is included, which finds her questioning when she’ll be free from protection. Lonely is another standout that sounds like something Christina Aguilera or P!nk would’ve done at the time. What It’s Like To Be Me features background vocals from Justin Timberlake.Favorite tracks: I’m a Slave 4 U, Overprotected

Love britney! But came with scratches on front :(
Love this album! Amazing songs and cover art! The cd it self is very beautiful and looks perfect. But the only thing I'm not to happy about is that the cd case came with 2 scratches on the front 😕 but over all I love this album just a little disappointed as it seems that the scratches are common with cds shipped from Amazon.

Her Transition Album
I'm A Slave 4 U: 5/5, My third favorite Britney single of all time! This also marked Britney's transition from 'teeny bopper' to 'pop star.'Overprotected: 5/5, I prefer the Darkchild remix, but the original is still great!Lonely: 5/5, The beat is great, and I like the lyrics, too.I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman: 5/5, A great song everyone can relate too.Boys: 4/5, Great dance song, but I prefer the Co-Ed remix.Anticipating: 4/5, I love the beat, and I don't mind the cheesy lyrics.I Love Rock N Roll: 5/5, I love her cover! I like that she made it a pop song, rather than singing it like the original.Cinderella: 4/5, I love the beat, but the song feels like it is lacking something.Let Me Be: 4/5, Okay song. The lyrics and beat are good, but I feel like it is missing something.Bombastic Love: 4/5, Good song, but not a standout track. That's Where You Take Me: 5/5, Beautiful song! What It's Like To Be Me: 5/5, I love this song! I wish this would've been released as a single.Bonus Tracks:When I Found You: 5/5, One of my favorite Britney songs! I'm not sure what it is, but I love this song.I Run Away: 5/5, Beautiful song with heartbreaking lyrics. Before The Goodbye: 5/5, I love the beat! I also love how she fast talks some of the lyrics, but also belts in the chorus and pre-chorus.

She needs to make mistakes to find out who she is.
This CD, Britney, is like the title implies - all about Britney. In "Overprotected" and "What It's Like To Be Me" she tells us that we don't know what it's like to be famous all the time, but she does.In "Lonely" and "Cinderella" she talks about a boy who used her to his own advantage that she never wants to see again. However, in "Anticipating", "That's Where You Take Me", and "Bomastic Love", she talks about another boy that makes her feel great and like she actually matters.Even though the cover of this CD really isn't that appropriate for kids under 13, most of the songs (except for Slave 4 U, That's Where You Take Me, and Boys. (Plus she uses the D word in Overprotected)) are actually very appropriate for children. It's not a Britney CD you would most likely buy for your kids or if you're under 13, but it's still a pretty enjoyable album whether you've suffered a bad break up, are in love, or anything else. :)

Britney Spears: Britney.
Let me start by saying I adore this album so much I recently purchased my THIRD copy. The first one, I couldn't stop listening to it, and the disc got damaged. The second one, I moved to Puerto Rico from Florida unexpectedly and I have no idea what happened to it. The third one, I have it right here, and if I lost it, and if I lost any Britney album again, I would buy it again. All the songs are 10/10. Lovely rhythms, lovely lyrics, "Slave" is very racy, Britney's raciest song since "Baby One More Time". I love that. Never skip a track. Amazing album.

Britney Album Review
Everyone wants to grow up, especially Britney and her buddies NYSNC, both of whom have released "maturing" albums, neither of whom have any real hit songs that their fan base wants to embrace. Is this a pause or plateau until the next album finds surer footing? My rating of each song1. I'm A Slave 4 U: not a hit, not appreciated by fans.2. Overprotected: Potential hit but not on first listening3. Lonely: Potential hit but not on first listening.4. I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman: Labeled a hit but it's not.5. Boys: Mediocre at best.6. Anticipating: Medicore at best7. I Love Rock 'n' Roll: Why is the most famous pop diva do ing cover songs? Lash the producers for this one.8. Cinderella: Potential hit after several listenings.9. Let Me Be: Part of On the Line album---best song on this album too.10. Bombastic Love: Where did they get this one?11. That's Where You Take Me: Lead me over a cliff.12. What It's Like To Be Me: Maturation, Menarche and Mystery since we still don't know what it's like.In summary, she is riding on her hype, like Maria on her new album and NYSNC on Celebrity all of which struggle to find any songs that are top hits let alone be played one year from now.Britney: get new producers and song writers and quit writing your own songs.
