DICKIE TOYS48" Mega Crane Playset

I very impressed with this toy... a lot of value for the money. I opened the box to review the assembly instructions before Christmas morning, and took advantage of that opportunity to affix the stickers. A little disappointed when I realized the operator figure is not included. We also found that our rechargeable batteries would not work, although non-rechargeables worked fine. (The positive terminal on the rechargeables we use is just a little - very, very little - shorter than on Duracells and Energizers, and just-a-little-too-think plastic tabs in the battery compartment prevented good contact. Go figure!) Otherwise, no problems. Wish the wired remote attached to the lower structure rather than to the control cab, or that the wire was longer, but it wasn't really a problem. We used fifty cents or so in pennies in a ziploc bag as the counterweight - worked great. I also trimmed just a little bit off the "hook" to make it easier for grandson to attach lifting loads. He loves it, and continues to play with it. It's a hoot to hear him grunting and groaning "trying" to lift a little cardboard box - which probably weighs less than an ounce: "Uh, uh, it's so heavy... need to use the crane." He also uses it to load his stuff animal friends from the PLAYMOBIL dump truck into a train, run them around the track a few times, and then off-load them back into the truck. This is a terrific toy, well worth the $25 I paid (with Prime shipping).

I got this for my 4 year old nephews birthday and he didn’t leave his room for hours! It’s super easy to assemble and very sturdy for cars, trucks and anything else he could think of to maneuver. This is well made and very tall! For a 4 year old it was as y’all as him and I think that amazed him even more. The remote works well and the crane moves with ease. 100% recommend.

The motor broke on the first one we got within about an hour of unboxing but we think it was a fluke. A replacement showed up the next day and everything has been awesome. To this point it works perfect and has been played with for months. Well worth the low price we paid for it!

Great toy.I bought this for my 5 year old for his birthday. He LOVES it!It goes together easily, and is quite sturdy (despite other reviews you may have read).Both of the attachments are really well done, and useful for the crane. We (OK, Daddy plays with it too) have used it to lift many hot wheels, lego vehicles, Thomas the train, and other various toys.One thing to note: You DO need to add counterbalance. I used some stick on wheel weights, and stuck them to the inside of the counterbalance box. Otherwise, the crane may tip if you lift the max capacity at the farthest position of the traveler.The crane does have a clutch on the lift winch, so it will not overstrain the motor, it will just spin the clutch.A very well made, entertaining, FUN toy.Highly recommended - for kids of all ages!

I gotta say my child loooooved this toy and it’s the only thing that has broken or been donated etc that he has remembered and asked for even months afterwards! (And I went Marie kondo on our entire playroom this year).That being said I would NOT buy it because it is just so cheap but chances are your kid will love it. It won’t withstand being played with, we fixed it as many times as we could until it couldn’t be fixed anymore. Every kid who came over to our house was enamored with it, I wish it was better quality.The concept/size is amazing but a pain to assemble, the attachment pieces do not stay together and the thing is ultimately of paper thin cheap plastic and will likely break in a month of use. My hubby is super handy and we managed to get about 5-6 months out of it from constantly repairing but it is really a pain.

We’ve had this crane for a year and it still works! It takes a lot of batteries but they still have not worn out. Easy to set up. You’ll need to find a rock or something small and heavy to put in the back to balance it out. The claw broke pretty early on- not great quality. My 4 year old loves it.

Here it is May 2019, this BIG crane is still in perfect shape. We have 2 little guys (age 6) so toys here ay Nana's get a good work out! This is a great toy for the $$ spent. Girls will love it as well! Lots of moving parts, very easy to set up plus batteries last a long time. We purchased this for Christmas 2018, I wonder how many of those toys are still in good working order as this is?

This think takes a little time to assemble, and it isn't very strong (motor or structure), but it is giant and my son plays with it for long periods of time. Everyone that sees it wants to try it out, and even if they get over it quickly when they realize it isn't able to lift anything over a pound it always produces a smile when they lift something, swing the boom around and set is down several feet away.
