PentelTwist-Erase Express Automatic Pencil with Lead and Eraser, 0.9mm (QE419FLEBP2), Assorted

TWIST ERASE MECHANICAL PENCIL: HANDS-DOWN this is the BEST mechanical pencil on the planet ... or at least the best one I can find. The pencil is quality made, holds lots of lead, and has the absolute BEST eraser which is big, replaceable, and quality (it erases well, does not shred, and won't rip paper). I have purchased this pencil for my kids for several years and, in my experience, it will last a full school year.BONUS: It comes in 5 good neutral colors.DOWNSIDE: There are probably more comfortable mechanical pencils on the market - with squishier cushions (but those squish cushions gather dust and glitter from pencil boxes. So get this pencil :)

I have tried many mechanical pencils over almost 40 years and this is a very good design for a very decent price. There are slightly better ones but I lose them too often to afford them. And there are the extremely cheap ones that are crummy in every way.These have a decent heft and balance with a rubber cushion that's the right softness. The cushion is a bit too far from the tip for my grip but they always are. The clip is all plastic but it is well designed. The click advance works really well like most Pentels. The tip does not retract on this model which may be a disadvantage but I've found that the retractable ones waste a lot of lead at the end of each piece.The best part is the eraser. The twist eraser is fantastic, it's the best I've ever used. It holds a nice long piece (a bit more than an inch of usable length), you just twist it to advance or retract, and it stays put when you erase (some other models retract back in when you start trying to erase). But they really blew it in their choice of eraser material. It's not awful, but it's mediocre. I don't know what is wrong with the people at Pentel; they have the greatest eraser material in the universe in their Clic Eraser and they use it in some of their mechanical pencils but not this one for some crazy reason. Instead this one uses a material that is more like the old pink erasers on wood pencils. But good news, you can get the Click Eraser refills and by just trimming off the end a bit they fit right in this one. That together with the regular Pentel high polymer lead (which is what these come loaded with) gets you the ability to write with a clear dark line but erase it easily and cleanly to the point that you can no longer see it! That's why I use these mechanical pencils. So great job Pentel! Now could you just change the eraser material to your other variety?

What are the things I like best is that the writing of this pencil is fine. It’s not thick like a standard Pencils. I love the grip it has. One of the best things is the eraser that very conveniently will pull up. It’s easy to refill and I love the colors. I’ve been buying these for five or six years now and will continue to do so. It’s a good value for the money.

I purchased these and put my managers names on them. They loved them. Turn out great. They are durable and lead does not break easy. Big plus in our line of work.

I love this pencil, comfortable and everything, but comes apart in my backpack easily and I end up losing the lead in the pencil. :/

Fantastic pencils. My daughter loves these. The only issue is that you need to get replacement erasers. They are great erasers and so are used often.

When my son came home from school asking for these pencils, I though he just liked being able to twist up the erasers. In all fairness, that is the feature that excited him the most, but he kept saying they were easy to write with and his hand wasn't as tired after using it. I do my best to get my kids school supplies that they enjoy using because I know how much more I enjoy my own work when I have tools and supplies that work well or I like for whatever reason. So while a pencil choice might sound a bit silly, I see it as a way of encouraging my kids at school.Compared to other pencils, these aren't exactly cheap, so I initially picked up a 2 pack at a local store, hoping my son would get his fascination with the twist eraser out of his system and this would be the end of it. But when I actually used the pencil? Well let's just say it's the first time in my life I've said 'Wow' after writing with a pencil. It's so incredibly smooth! It actually writes smoother than many pens I've used. And it does not break nearly as easily as most other pencils we've used, mechanical or wooden. So off to Amazon I went to purchase more at a better price, because mom wants a few of these pencils now, too.Now, personally, I'm not super jazzed about the twist eraser as the eraser likes to twist itself out while in my purse (not all the way out, but out enough that I have to twist it back in before each use). This is probably because I don't use pencils often so it sits in my purse getting jostled around for quite a while before it gets pulled out. My son does not have this issue with the ones in his backpack, as he uses them every day at school. He also uses the eraser a lot, so having an extra long eraser is not only 'cool', it's practical for him.One could just buy the strong-yet-buttery-smooth lead refills and put them in a cheaper pencil, if you don't have need or desire for the extra eraser. But this pencil is also very comfortable in my hand, lightweight and balanced well, so I haven't bothered to do that personally. Still, it's an option if you prefer a different pencil design.

I was using cheap 0.7mm pencils, but I'm a fidgeter, so most of them failed with a used-up eraser or a lost eraser due to my fidgeting. The large retractable erase prevents me from losing it or consuming it prematurely. Now my favorite note-taking pencil, and reasonably inexpensive.

These are very affordable! I prefer the newer models because they have a larger grip, but for the price these can't be beat. I love the twist-erase feature of these kinds of mechanical pencils; I hardly ever use a standard eraser anymore.

el grip que tiene el lapicero es basatnte comodo ademas de que tiene un borrador bastante grande y trae un repuesto por lo que no te quedaras sin goma, los colores son bastante bonitos y brillantes pero no son muy llamativostrae un paquete de puntillas de .5mm por lo que tienes basatntes para dibujar o escribir, tambien parecen bastante resistentes

I enjoy these pencils the best out of any other mechanical pencil I've tried, it's nice that you don't have to worry about the eraser getting worn down too much and having to pick at it to change the lead. I'm glad they put more attention on the eraser as I use it to sketch out art and I do need to be able to make mistakes and not have to worry about my supplies. The grip is also comfortable.
