A lot of comic readers that were around for the Image Explosion of the early 90s have a book they still love despite now recognizing its flaws and Cyber Force is that for me. When this reboot was announced on Kickstarter in 2012, I actually welcomed it as a chance to take premise and actually do something better with it. The first volume of this series seemed to deliver... there were some odd choices and a lot of the core cast was killed off, but honestly Velocity and Ripclaw were the only characters that stood out in the original books, and giving the leader backstory to Stryker made sense. Overall, the first volume had a decent feel and at least showed premise.This book is just a huge drop off. The writing and art are far worse than the previous and for a book built so much around action, there's a lot of meandering, particularly one issues in which Velocity, who has been established as being the pinnacle of human evolution able to survive the future apocalypse throughout the series, is waylaid by a bunch of average humans on the street. Which leads me to my biggest complaint.The ending of this story just craps out. After an action cliffhanger, the final issue of the book (and series) is set ten years in the future, quickly glancing over what could have been years of issues, which I don't mind because it's a massive bummer that only would have been worse stretched out. It's a massive rushed, deflating ending that makes reading the book in one sitting feel like a waste and leaves almost the entire cast as either useless or having actively made the world worse. And the final insult is that this reboot has just been rebooted again... not after over a hundred issues like a Superman or Spider-Man would give you, but a mere 11. Hopefully the 2018 reboot works better than 2012. ### ⭐⭐ Confusing, unexciting story, sub par art *by T***M on Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2021* Collecting issues #7-12 this TPB continues the story from the 1st six issues. However, the story this collection presents is confusing and unexciting. A new enemy named Killjoy is introduced with not explanation was to she is so powerful. I also found the art to be very poor in quality and detail. Bring back David Finch! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Art quality dropped by a lot. *by G***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2016* I enjoyed volume 1 of Cyber Force Rebirth, and so as I was at Free Comic Book day I saw this on the shelf and just snagged it without even opening it up. A great cover on the front, same name... I didn't think about the artist changing. Bait and switch has been a problem in comics for a long time.
