Q: i got one a month ago and the light stop working,do i need to get a new batery or how does it work?

There is a battery cover at the rear - you will need to take it out of the box if you haven't already done so. It takes 'AAA' batteries.

Q: How often do the batteries need replacing?

Ours have been up on the wall 4m and not been changed yet. They only stay on 30secs at a time.

Q: Why does the sensor light only work when a light is shined on it, hand motion won’t work??

I had this same problem with my first one. The second constantly turns on without light or movement. My daughter has a Disney one which works perfectly.

Sorry you would have to ask the seller but it is likely to be out with the Amazon guarantee period. The consumer rights act gives you 6 months whereby any fault is assumed to be there at the point of sale. After 6 months that assumption no longer applies and you would have to prove it was faulty when you bought it which can be tough to do.
