Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask, 3.38 Ounce

I've had many clay masks, some from tubes and others from small canisters like this but it's actually pretty convenient. The only problem I have with it is the cleanliness but that could easily be solved by purchasing some cosmetic spatulas or even using a kitchen spoon. The product is very thick in consistency and not particularly watery but that's what makes it so easy to work with and spread on. Some masks say to apply an layer but it's too watery to really tell but that isn't the issue here.The mask, once you put it on, is immediately refreshing which is surprising. It gives you the tingly feeling that many clay masks do, but is more refreshing like a sheet mask. There are small little beads or something in the product to exfoliate your skin but by no means is it harsh. I used it for the suggested time, then rinsed it off with warm water and afterwards I felt like my skin was rather bright. The pores were a little better but since I don't have many problems with clogged pores or just skin issues in general but I do have the occasional acne. I usually use it after a long day out or just after a night out with friends and especially if I've accidentally slept with makeup on. My skin feels absolutely cleansed and tighter after. I did notice it helped my blackheads though. However, I wouldn't say this is a miracle worker over one use. Keep in mind that most products need to be used a few times before you can really notice real results. As I have tried many clay masks, I would say this is one of the most cost effective, especially over the American products I've used.

I am soooo happy I decided to give this product a try! It does EXACTLY what it says and I always feel so good after each use. It cleans out my pores better than any other product I've ever used and it leaves my skin feeling so, SO fresh and smooth and just wonderful feeling. I have pretty oily skin, you see, and my pores have suffered because of all the gross excess oil and resulting acne troubles. As you can imagine, I've gone through product after product in search of something that would actually work well for me and I have found things, but this is just amazing and I stumbled across it on accident. hahaSo far, this is the only product that does a pretty great job at tightening my pores while leaving it clean (and not the tight, uncomfortable type of clean feeling you get from a lot of products) and the cooling sensation it has is a very nice bonus. It's a nice way to unwind after a long day and I will be buying more in the future. I personally have not suffered any negative side effects from using this, but I have noticed a couple of new pimples. I imagine that is merely from the gunk in my pores being drawn to the surface and continued use will clear it up fairly quickly (along with aid from other products I use).I would definitely recommend this to anyone with similar skin problems. It honestly makes a world of difference.

There are two versions of this: the super volcanic version (the one I'm reviewing right now) and a regular biju volcanic pore clay mask, both under Innisfree. The nature of these clay masks are cooling and drying, but the super volcanic version is geared towards especially oily skin. My skin (which is most characterized by normal) definitely felt tight and dry after using this, but it's nothing that a moisturizer couldn't fix. This mask has a light steel-gray color with a blue tinge that is super neat to look at, and the cooling sensation is very pleasant. I didn't see much difference in my skin after using this once, but I think this mask is goodl for its anti-inflammatory benefits. Whenever I feel that a break-out is about to happen, I use this as a spot-treatment by applying a generous amount to the pre-breakout area and washhing the mask off after 10 minutes or so. I do this once or twice daily for 2-3 days, and the inflammation is almost always reduced. It's even good for break-outs that have already occurred! I don't use this often, so it's a pretty good value. I just think of it as an accessory item to my routine since I don't break out that much, but my sisters who are more acne-prone appreciate this. As a total face mask, I recommend just doing it once or twice weekly. I'm not certain of its placement in the Korean skincare routine, but I either use this before my cleanser or just replace the cleansing step with this.
