Nice quality, simple and effective design.
Great kettle. Boils 1 litre in 2'30". It rotates on it's base which makes it easier to fill and pick up. It has a clear panel on each side to view the water level and the switch illuminates to show it's on. Switches off reasonably quickly when the water reaches boiling point. Much nicer to look at and use than my previous cheap plastic kettle.

Great kettle
It's a kettle, which is quite sturdy. It replaced a plastic one and the difference is quite noticeable. Not sure why - this one feels chunky, heavier. It's noisier but for some reason it just feels good to use. It is quite noisy compare to other kettles, but does boil quite quickly compared to my old one. The lid feels solid, pressing the button to flip up the semi circle opening, which is big enough. You can lift it further for a full 90 degree opening if needed. Looks smart in the kitchen as well, and hold a good amount of water.

A good looking kettle, not without niggles.
This is a good looking and well made kettle that pours well. It has a metal screening mesh in its built-in filter, which in my opinion is better than having the flimsier plastic types that are sometimes shipped. as the title to my review suggests, it is not without niggles. The key niggle for me is the lid opening mechanism. It opens to c. 45degrees, and to open it more fully (to c.90 degrees) you need to do so manually, which feels less than optimum when dealing with hot steam and looking to refill from a filter or tap. My kettle also has a strange rattling sound part way through the boiling process; this may go away with use, as it literally kicks in at the same point and then disappears after c.10 seconds, but currently I find find it a tad disconcerting. A third niggle was the pronounced metallic/oily scent that emanated from the kettle for the first few boilings, even after cleaning it as directed by Bosch. It did not affect the taste of the tea - or at least, not noticeably - but it did affect my sense of pleasure in using it for the first few days. The scent has fully gone with use, and apart from the lid opening niggle I am now enjoying the kettle. The build quality appears to be very good, and so long as the lid mechanism holds up then I can see this product being a robust one. (Sprung lids appear to be a key point of weakness in general electronic kettle design when they are used). A last thing to note is that the kettle is averagely loud in my experience, boils at the expected rate, does not sustain a rolling boil for very long, and while the fill display panel on the side of the kettle does the job, it is not all that easy to read the fill level as you fill as it is not illuminated.

Lovely kettle
Very happy with this sturdy kettle which I've now had a while. I love the copper finish, as it matches other things in my kitchen. It's a good size too, and the water level gauge is easy to read (which it isn't always). It's even better than the Bosch model it replaced, which I got many years of use out of.

Looks gooD, large, slightly noisey
The Bosch DesignLine Plus TWK4P439GB kettle is a stylish addition to my kitchen. The copper finish is undeniably eye-catching, and it definitely elevates the look of my countertop. I also appreciate the large 1.7-litre capacity, which is perfect for when I'm making tea for a crowd. It boils water quickly, thanks to the 3000W power, so I'm not left waiting around impatiently for my cuppa. The cordless design is convenient, and the kettle sits securely on its base. However, it's not all sunshine and copper. While the exterior looks great, I've noticed that it does show fingerprints quite easily, so I'm constantly wiping it down to keep it looking pristine. Also, the water level window, while functional, feels a bit flimsy and cheap compared to the overall quality of the kettle. My biggest gripe, though, is the noise. This thing is LOUD when it's boiling. It sounds like a jet engine taking off in my kitchen. It's definitely not a kettle you want to use if you're trying to have a quiet conversation or if someone's still asleep. Finally, while it's a premium-looking kettle, the price tag is also quite premium, and I'm not entirely convinced it justifies the cost compared to some other, quieter models. So, it's a mixed bag. Beautiful to look at, boils quickly, but noisy and a bit pricey.

Good Kettle
I did a lot of research to buy a kettle; it's pretty confusing from the reviews! My daughter recommended this one as they had had a Bosch for several years. It works well and looks good. I do agree with some of the reviews about the "plastic" smell and slight taste. This has diminshed a lot in the week that I have had it. I think the smell comes from the fact that the pourer is made of plastic (inside is metal). However, the big plus of this for me is that I have found the metal pourers "spit" when finishing pouring; this does not so a positive. I have given it 4 stars and not 5 because the water level indicator IS exremely difficult to read due to the dark interior. The only sure way of getting the water level for me, it looking in the top. I guess no big deal as you have to lift the top to put water in it! Pretty well all the other makes I looked at had a lot of negative reviews and so for me, this was the best. I'm happy with it.
