Good price for decent tool. Go to hardware store and get a jam nut to keep forks from rotating, as tightening the fork against the end of the thread is not sufficient to prevent rotation.

Tried for quite a while to get hoses to release on 07 Mustang GT, with the engine out. Never worked, and I’m a professional mechanic.

I tried three other tools to get the heater hoses disconnected out of my 2004 Ford excursion 6.0 diesel, and this is the only one that worked. Took me two days of trying to get those things apart before I got this tool.

This tool may not always fit or be the best functioning tool, but , that one time it helps you get a heater hose off . . . Worth every penny.

The tool should come with two forks, each a different size, so it will remove both hose sizes. However, this tool set came with tow forks which are actually the same size, so it will only remove the small hose size.Secondly, while this tool may work on some or most Ford vehicles with "snap-fit" heater hose connections, it will not work on 1996-2004 Mustangs that have the 4.6L DOHC engine. On such models there is no room to get the tool onto the hose fittings.

The Disconnect tool looks fairly well made. I can see how it is supposed to work. The trouble is it does not fit either size Ford heater hose Quick Connect on my 1993-1994 Aerostar. I ended up using a pair of 10" Tekton 34406 (sold at Amazon) 90 degree bent nose pliers to remove the connectors. You-tube "Ford E350 How to Remove Heater Hose Without Tool" shows how to use the bent nose pliers. I returned the tool.
