I have been tutoring a very bright boy who is whizzing along through CLC Book One. His parents asked me to give him extra things to do. “Fine”, I thought, “the links to the paralinguistic material on the CLC website will do the trick”. To my horror, they are no longer there. So I have to recommend suitable youtube links. Then I found this book with extra exercises and puzzles. A life saver. I can imagine someone studying on their own will appreciate the structure provided by this little book which will guide them through each stage.

Back in the day (when I was at secondary school in the 1980s) I used "Ecce Romani" course books for Latin . Now my son uses the Cambridge Course Boks at his school, which are excellent. Well structured and comprehensive in their approach to the teaching of Latin in the modern world, and making the subject as relevant as it ever was, with the Student Study Book helping to compound the learning.

I found the beginners book to be quite simple, but it has been an entertaining way to refresh my memory. I am also working through the standard Jones and Sidwell- but have ordered this series in book two just because they make a subject that can be a bit daunting a times very fun and if you want to take a break and just enjoy Latin- these are excellent books.
