The Empire Strikes Back
No 'difficult 2nd album syndrome' here!1st one was much more 'fear and loathing' , this is a lot more 'lipstick traces'.Better than the 1st book, funnier, smarter and the music industry observations are peerless.Don't care who it is, could read this voice all day.I was taken aback by 1st one, really shocked how smart and funny it was. It wasn't an accident...

There are now two great books on Dance Music ...... at least !
I may of enjoyed this more than book 1 but i can't be sure , both are excellent. Written with verve and humour and I think with a deep love and understanding of the importance of the dance music and the dance floor. It is both quite serious and at times very funny .A book that appeals to both veterans and the more fresh faced groovers amongst us. especially if you are interested in a bit of social history. At present it seems rave is dead but long live rave . If you like dance music buy this book , you will not be disappointed, a guaranteed page turner.

Quality follow up!
Following the thoroughly entertaining rollercoster which was book one I wasn't sure what to expect with the follow up....I was not disappointed! This one is a different party altogether and time to get (semi) serious. This book has eloquently put into words my own growing disillusionment of watching a scene that dragged me up morph into something now simply missing the point on many levels. This book opens the stagedoor for us to take a quick peak at the darkside which once seen will not quickly be forgotten. This book isn't just about music, it's about life itself!Belter.

Great read
Fantastic book that gives a real insight in to the clubbing world. Thoroughly enjoyable and accessible.

Goes deeper than the first
If you’re looking for more crazy tales of partying and debauchery like the first book, this will disappoint. It delves deeper in to the world of underground music but on the whole I found it to be a little self indulgent (i.e. waffle) and found myself skipping pages toward the end.

legend
great read, equally as good as the first one (which i highly recommend).some spot on observations on dj culture and the state of the current music industry.worth it alone for the "spider" tale!

another great read
Having started raving in the uk in the mid nineties this book, again like the first, is a lovely slice of nostalgia. It would appeal to those both younger and with no connection to dance music too. It’s both eloquently written, engaging with comedy and insight in equal measure. It took me a good while to pick up book 2 after I’d known it was released and I won’t be waiting to buy and read the 3rd.Jamie (Audiojack) / JR Hartley
