Weber Spirit E-310 (NG) gives a solid confident grilling experience.
I assembled it pretty easily. Opted for the Free Amazon Assembly, which was a complete JOKE. They never showed, tried to reschedule and them said they would call me back when they could find a contractor in the area... never heard from them. In truth, I was mad enough at Amazon for all this mess that I sent the unit back to them and bought it for the same price at Target.com with my RED CARD and got another 5% off so it was cheaper there. The base did come bent like some others reported on here but this was Fedex fault, not Weber. Weber customer service sent me a new base and 5 days later I was assembling the grill. Went very smoothly. Two things that tripped me up: 1. there was a part listed for a SP-310 which I thought was my SPIRIT 310 grill, its not. I have a E-310. The SP-310 part listed is REALLY FOR A SP-310 so if you have a E-310 ignore that part and bolts bag and move on. 2. I thought the cross bars holding the grill on the base were forgotten!! But they were cleverly embedded in the side of the cardboard backing which my wife found when I told her I was missing them. I am sure someone else will run into this so I mentioned it. Went to home depot and got the 1/2 to 3/8 inch bushing for my NG line as well as a 3/8 inch nipple for the Weber parts to mate with the bushing. A little pipe dope and everything ready to go. First grill was burgers and everyone loved the taste. Have cooked several tenderloins on it and each was perfect. No learning curve, heats up to 500 degrees per the temp gauge plenty fast, and flame tamers work great. Made me look like an expert on a new grill right out of the gate. I expected to have to "learn the grill" but it was very intuitive and solid. Hot enough that I have to go down to about 40% on the burners after heat up or the tenderloins start to cook too fast due to too hot. So there are not any BTU problems that I can tell. I will say on the comments of Weber quality that this grill is made economicallyand I do like very well made things generally but as a consolation to recognizing that fact I am ok because it has it were it counts. I wouldnt say its "made cheap" but I would say they cut corners in areas in build quality that would clearly benefit their bottom line. i.e. initially I thought the side tables are flimsy and thin, didnt like that it has a strange plastic louvered lid handle, and thought the gauge of the base and sides and back of the grill could have been a bit more robust/heavy... but they are really minor after I put it together its solid enough and when I started using it and enjoyed the first steaks on it - I am happy and simply dont care about or notice that anymore. Even the plastic louvered lid handle that I have to grab all the time is ok because I noticed that it doesnt get hot at all - so maybe that was the reason and part of the benefit... maybe. :-) I have had grills that cost twice as much, require two arms to lift the heavy well made lid, beautifully engineered and built like a tank with 6 burners to grill for a small army but they were more finicky and often would require more skill and practice to get the food right and required lots of babysitting not to burn the food, plus consumed a lot more gas. So if you are just a family of five, for example, and want a grill thats easy, cooks well, and one that you can share the grilling tasks with anyone in your family then this grill requires very little to produce great results. I love it.

Great grill that's easy to set up and use
I am just in my first week of using this grill, but already I am pretty impressed by it. I had a pretty generic gas grill from Lowe's but it was rusting and falling apart on me. I decided to step it up to a higher quality grill that will hopefully last a lot longer. My son and I assembled the grill in about one and a half hours. The instructions were quite clear, though they list steps for both the natural gas version and the liquid propane version. I was worried for a few minutes when I could find certain parts, but it was because those were only used for the LP version. The screws and nuts all come in one long plastic bag divided into labeled compartments. I really liked how you worked from one end of the bag, used all those pieces, and then went onto the next section. Be aware that the wheels are not all the same. Two can lock and two don't. The two lockable ones belong on the front. Once it was all assembled, I just turned off the gas pipeline, unhooked the old grill's gas line, hooked up the new grill's gas line, and then turned the gas back on. I have cooked a couple of times on it. It lights up immediately with the electric starter, and it takes only about 10 minutes to preheat. I like how the grill came with a plastic card with cooking tips for various food items. The grill was also easy to clean, and it comes with 3 hooks on each side to hold tongs, spatula, etc. It's not the fanciest grill, with just three burners and no burners on the side like some others. But it gets the job done and looks pretty solid. I am looking forward to using it more.

Weber for life...
This is my third Weber grill...I've moved around a lot, and the first one (an LP grill) just got beat up from being shipped to several cities. The second one lasted ten years...it, too, was an LP grill. The house I just moved to has a natural gas outlet, so I decided to look at an NG grill this time. I must say, I thoroughly read each and every review here before selecting this grill. I already love Weber grills, and the positive reviews reinforced my decision to stick with Weber. From opening the box to on the deck took about two hours, with another set of hands helping me here and there a couple of times. The weight, look, and feel of the product is what you'd expect. What I really love is that the bottom of the grill will slide out to allow you to clean it (the whole bottom, not just the drip tray). If you cook something like chicken on a grill, it will drip a lot of fat and give cause for a grease fire the next time you start the grill. Now, that's no longer an issue, and the bottom trays cleans as easy as if it was teflon coated (which its not). The grill heats up very fast, and seems to have a maximum temperature of around 525 degrees--plenty hot for me as I only cook steaks using temperatures that hot. I noticed on the box that this grill has a 25 yr. warranty...something I didn't know or expect! If it lasts that long, then this is for sure my last grill...it might outlast me! Love it, and strongly recommend this grill to anyone wanting a quality product that is well built, easy to use, and produces great food. -UPDATE- I was slightly mistaken regarding the warranty. Certain parts have a 25 yr. warranty, others 10 years, and on down to two years. You can see what is warranted and for how long by checking out Weber's web site: [...]

Good grill and your dogs will like it
I went to all the Home Depots and Lowe's in my area and nobody had the natural gas models, only LP. Ordered off Amazon and it was at my front door the next day. I had a Genesis previously that lasted about 10 years but I never used the side stove or all the burners so I went with the Spirit which is no nonsense, 3 burners, HOT and even heat distribution. Took one star off because the back is not enclosed enough to keep my dogs from going after the grease tray, I have to push it up against the house when not in use. Took me about an hour to assemble, but when you see all that goes into building one of these the price is justified. Assembly directions are well thought out. I'm convinced that the assembly process is part of the bonding needed with your new companion and a rite of passage to earn the right to be a grill master. Happy with my purchase.

Quality Grill
Solid. First thing you notice is the weight of the box. These grills are built to last compared to the tinfoil garbage in front of home depot. Assembly was dead easy if you know how to turn a screwdriver. Hooks right up to a half inch iron gas line.

Outstanding Natural Gas Grill
We have had this grill for several weeks now and have grilled a variety of things: steaks (ribeyes, filet minon), pork loin roast, cedar planked salmon, veggies, chicken. The grill heats up quickly and sufficiently to do a great job on steaks. It is also uniform in temperature and controllable. This allows excellent outcomes on fish and roasts. Weber knows that they are doing. A few examples: the grates are at just the right height above the flavor bars so that juices burn off to give your steaks, chicken etc a good BBQ taste & crust, but at the same time the gap is sufficient to keep your meat from getting burnt. I also appreciate the angled drip pan design that allows fat to flow into the disposable tray. Slide out the large drip plan, wipe it out occasionally and you'll prevent most flare ups. The heavy cast metal body and grates retain heat very effectively. Another reason why this grill cooks uniformly. Something to keep in mind: The safety instructions caution you not to fire up the grill under a balcony or overhang. Pay attention to that warning. Unlike some grills, this one does what it should do. It cranks out the heat, so roll it out in the open and don't use it under an overhang. This E310 replaces a shiny stainless steel creation I purchased from a warehouse club that had a side burner, ceramic IR searing element, etc. I rebuilt the shiny creation twice after the burners rusted out. The light weight metal body finally got to a point where it was too rusted to be rebuilt. Also found I never used the side burner. In any event, I'm finding that 3 burners in a quality grill does the job. Beware the siren call of shiny warehouse club grills.... This is an outstanding grill.

Not so great warranty.
I purchased this grill in January to replace an older natural gas grill that I could no longer find parts for. I decided to go with Weber because I THOUGHT that they stood behind their products with a solid warranty. I also THOUGHT they had quality products. I placed this grill on my deck in the same spot that my old grill was when we purchased the house about 5 years ago. I also had a smoker in the same spot for about 2 years before I decided I would also like a natural gas grill again for the convenience. This grill wasn't on my deck for quite a month before I went outside to find it face down on the deck. I lifted the grill to find all of the control knobs smashed and the stems that they sat on were bent. The manifold that the knobs came out of were also broken on both sides (plastic end caps). I contacted Weber and let them know the same details mentioned above to see if they could work with me on the issue. They told me that unfortunately the event would not be covered... so apparently they build a grill that can't handle the wind and don't mention that you need to either anchor this thing to the ground, or tie it to your deck somehow... They said they would comp the control knobs out of the kindness of their hearts (thanks?), and give me the knob cover at cost ($61.46). I decided I would try to bend back the valve stems for the control knobs myself. The parts came in and I attempted to bend the control knobs and one broke off causing me to fillet my thumb open with a blade screw driver when the part broke. I assembled the cover back on and attached the control knobs only to find that the knobs would hit the cover before you could push them in and turn because they were tweaked. So now I had a sliced open thumb and a grill that I still couldn't use. I contacted Weber to let them know the situation and they advised that now I needed a new manifold for the gas valves/stems. They said that they could not warranty them but they could give me the assembly at cost ($52.42). So once again I bought the part because I have a brand new gas grill sitting on my deck that is not usable. The part came in today and it will hopefully fix the grill so I can use it again. I have had this grill for about 2 months and most of that time I haven't been able to use it. The couple of times I have used it it worked pretty well, except when it is on low the flame blows out pretty easily. This unit is light and feels cheap. The parts are made in China and you can tell that the quality is decent, but cheaply made. I will not buy a Weber again because I am not impressed with the quality of the product for the price. Mostly, I am very disappointed with their Warranty and willingness to stand behind their products. Put your money to better use elsewhere.

I can only say that Weber did a terrific job of pack the product
We received it two days ago and dang the box is HEAVY for a couple senior citizens. With a box cutter my wife and myself opened the box and started pulling out parts. I can only say that Weber did a terrific job of pack the product! Removal of the cardboard was close to the weight of the barbe. Excellent job of packaging. Assembly with the wife who is more visual went well with the directions even without anything written. Worked well, I found the pieces and she showed me where they went. This is a quality built grill, not the cheap stuff we had before. We have only grilled once so far and the heat seems even or varied if you wish to turn off certain burners which we did for steaks in one area and grilled vegies on the other. Only problem we had was the lighter didn't work and finding an adaptor for the gas line to go from 1/2" to 3/8" NPT at HD. It took a couple parts. The lighter problem was solved when I realized I had put the battery in upside down. We love the grill. American quality is evident in the construction and materials. I will say the handle for lifting the top gets HOT to the touch when cooking. The wife solved the problem (without using a mit) by making a nice quilted velcro attached cloth wrap around it. Jerry
