GREAT thread
My 5-star rating concerns the thread quality only. This thread is absolutely amazing, unbreakable, and gets the job done. Yes, this Nylon thread is bigger and larger than the average sewing threads (weight 40,50), but that does not mean it can not be sewn with a domestic sewing machine.I own two sewing machines (Janome Harmony 2049 and Brother's SE 400 Sewing/embroidery combo) and I have no problem sewing with heavy Nylon threads. The reason I purchased this thread is because I have been using them for about two years, mainly for decorative purposes and topstitching; this thread is sturdy and ROBUST. However, if one thinks he or she will be able to sew in a normal fashion like regular threads (weight 50), then he/she is mistaken. Years ago, I made a big mistake when using these threads by sewing in a normal speed and my machine would jam every time; one of my needles even broke. With some testing, I find out that the only way to sew with heavy Nylon threads without having the sewing machine jam is to sew slowly. Yes, one NEEDS TO SEW SLOWLY. I'm not saying one needs to sew at a turtle's pace, but just take it slow and the thread will glide through the machine easily and nicely. I also use needle sizes 16 and 18; size 14 will get it done; however, bigger needle sizes are much better when working with heavy threads.(Nylon threads are so strong that hairdressers use them when sewing in weaves for women.)Now that I've completed the review of this amazing thread, I'll say a few thing about the color. I ordered a dark navy blue thread and when I received the thread - it was jet black. Navy blue usually looks like black, so just to make sure I compared it to my other black threads and there was no difference at all, which is angering because I needed it for a sewing project. I'm not sure if Thread Art has its color numbers wrong, but something is not right. The "navy blue" thread that I received has a color # of 360 but resembles black. All in all, this UNBREAKABLE thread is EXCELLENT and makes beautiful and strong stitches. For that reason alone, I would recommend this thread to anybody. Moreover, DO NOT be afraid to sew with this thread because it's heavy, for it can be used with your domestic machine.*****UPDATE regarding ThreadArtI e-mailed Thread Art regarding the wrong color thread and got a response very quickly; the customer rep. stated: "We checked the warehouse stock and it is a very dark navy."1/13/2012: I received a second response from Thread Art and, indeed, the dark navy blue thread is the right color (just a very dark navy blue that appears black). The color issues have been resolved through great customer service.

Great thread!
I use heavy duty threat for different projects. This project was a heavy duty canvas linner for my truck to protect the seats and floor from hair and scratches from my St Bernard. I think I could hang off a MTN with this thread. I will buy this thread again.

The title heavy duty is loosely used.
For automotive, marine I'd say for decorative stitch it's good for french seaming it's ok but for holding seams together no it's not strong it's stronger then cloths thread but not by much

Neon flamingo is "neon coral"..
Neon coral is my "signature color. And I was having the hardest time finding this in a thread. This is my second purchase of this product..I'd say it holds up very well. I've been using it to upholster my car. And as you know, thread, fabrics etc tend to fade over time especially sitting in a car.. So far its kept is color pretty well. Its also pretty durable I'd say. There is another version of this thread that they call "neon coral".. By this same brand.Which is actually neon pink.. So if you're looking for more of an actual coral purchase this one 'neon flamingo'. Otherwise you'll be disappointed
