Sturdy Build...High Output...Super Quality...
Without a doubt this is the finest inverter I've ever owned. Of course none of the others I've owned have been over the $150 price range. I wanted/needed an inverter that I could trust to run for months/years if need be without a hiccup for a reasonable price. Past units I've owned have run VERY hot and then the fans would quit and eventually the entire inverter would stop. Sure there are more expensive units but from what I've read from past users this Tripp-Lite PV1250FC will fit the bill and last for years. This inverter worked flawlessly in starting a 13 amp Skil-Saw, a 12 amp vacuum cleaner and a 13 amp microwave oven. The red overload light would come on for a second or so while the saw, vacuum and microwave ramped up and then it was smooth sailing. I ran the microwave and vacuum about 5 minutes to my satisfaction. Since these units were pulling 1500 watts continuous and close to 2500 surge for start up, I feel these results were very admirable for a 1250w rated inverter.Primarily though I just wanted an inverter that I could run at 500 watts or usually less for months or years continuously if need be without the worry of it burning up. It will be primarily used on a solar power battery bank that will drain and charge the batteries in the 200-500 watt range. I wanted durability and I feel this inverter will provide that. If it doesn't I will surely report back...kd

A challenge for home use to say the least plus missing covers as shown.
For the price, it's built like a brick outhouse which I like. I have to supplement this with a DC charger that floats a 27 size marine battery in the kitchen. It's a challenge to say the least. For the price I hope I can get 72 intermittent hours for a fridge full of good food. Wishful thinking I know all so well. I wonder why Tripp Lite didn't supply covers for the 2 boxes. Look at the pics. Oh well. I'm no Noah on an ark so I'll make do. Sign this Satellite said he's gonna have another beer.

WHOOPS! NO BATTERY CHARGER ON THIS ONE.
In my haste to order, I neglected to thoroughly read about the features of the PV2000FC. I was seeking a 2,000 watt unit equipped with a built-in battery charger and an automatic transfer switch that immediately activates the unit when utility power fails. Unfortunately, this unit does not have such a features. So when the PV2000FC arrived, I immediately returned it for a refund. Since the error was mine, I was required to pay for return shipping. (Thus, a somewhat costly mistake! My bad!)However, on Amazon I did locate a Tripp Lite APS 2012 (APS seems to be an abbreviation for "Automatic Power Supply") which is a 2,000 watt unit and does, indeed, have the built-in battery charger and automatic transfer switch. So I ordered the APS 2012 and it was promptly delivered. My intent for obtaining the APS 2012 was to assemble a portable power generator and documenting -- with a camera -- every step involved. This project is intended to become a Special Report in both written and video format, which will be available to the public... hopefully on Amazon. Working title for the Special Report is HOW TO CREATE A GASOLINE-FREE, OFF-THE-GRID, PORTABLE POWER GENERATOR.As of December 1, 2012, this project is a work-in-progress. Photography has been completed. Report writing and video narrative authoring is currently under way.

Bought this inverter to Run Washing machine and Evap coolers ...
Bought this inverter to Run Washing machine and Evap coolers. We went Solar. This inverter Runs the Heavy Stuff. Now When there is no Need for Cooling the House the Swamp Cooler off I mean. Then it It Runs it all. TV,Washing Machine Computer. There I said it. It has been working for almost two years has not burped once. Most of the sine waves inverters that are in this power range that do this would break the bank and will cash out (Go up in Smoke)I know I foolishly bought one. You wont regret this powerhouse. When this one goes if it does I will buy another one in a heart beatUpdate It is 23 Dec 2023 I am in the Middle of 2022 Texas Cold/Storm Spell Power is out all around us here. This Old Unit is bailing us out right now. Still working and we have ordered a new one. From 2015 to 2023 * years and not a Issue.

Works good, needs better mounting options
Works good, needs better more secure mounting tabs or even a mounting plate.

If you're trying to convert low voltage for Auto repair..this is for YOU!
This is a good inverter overall ....perfect for an application of service vehicles but not an ideal component for off grid solar set up...Even more so ,this inverter has some kick back when in fault mode..it literally faulted 7times in a row while trying to start a 3400 watt air compressor...Manufacturers label for he air compressor is totally destroyed.. only to find out after some investigation...the Air compressor was rated at 3400 watts...Even still..I Respect this Inverter 👏🏿 Draw back...the two 110 plug options..I want 4....

Awesome Inverter
This Inverter works very well, couple it with remote option (APSRM4) and it works even better. Tripp Lite tech staff answer any questions I may have and they are very accommodating. Their website gives you a list of Sellers and prices so I was able to get the deal I wanted through the company I wanted. I only found out about the sellers list on their website when the vendor I was buying from refused to jump through a small hoop to get an order out ( you see it was 10 minutes after noon on Friday and he would not process the order until Monday....way to go American Van!) . In addition my new supplier is $100 cheaper and twice as fast with a more liberal return policy. We have tried many brand s of inverters before this and so far they are the best.
