excellent book for Mercedes E class 1986-95
If you have any intentions of buying a mid 80's to mid 90's E class Mercedes Benz you owe it to yourself to get a copy of this book. Well written by a Mercedes tech and shop owner of many years, covering a model that is still considered among the better designed and built Mercedes Benz cars. Just because a car is newer doesn't always mean it is better, with this E class Mercedes being a good example. If you are not the owner of this E class, buy the book, read through it and you soon will be looking for a good example of this E class and buy it! Whether one of the 300E's with the 6 cylinder engine, a 400E with the zippy V8, of if you are fortunate enough to find one of the rare 500E/E500 from 1992-94, you will enjoy any of them, and need this book to guide you along the way.

Buy a standard service manual with it
This is a great second resource, but get yourself a real service manual of some sort as well. I also have the Haynes, which itself isn’t perfect. This book is full of interesting facts and history and some detailed repair/ replacement work. But it does not cover all repairs specifically, and I have no idea why they covered some work in detail, but skip other work. That’s why you want the other manual too.

Not bad.
Not bad ,but there was not to much information or picture explanation I'll give it not more than 5 from 10.

Great, useful.
I was a little worried about this because of the reviews, but I will tell you this is definitely a good book to get if you need to work on your Mercedes. It may not have everything, it assumes you know how to jack up a car, and know when to remove a tire. It is not a step by step guide for someone with no knowledge of cars. People claiming to be mechanics leaving reviews are just straight up lying. There are going to be projects that I am sure you will not find in this book. Its always good to buy more than one book for any vehicle you care about and plan on working on.

İt is a good book to cover maintenance for a " do it ...
İt is a good book to cover maintenance for a " do it yourself " person. I give it three star because it does not cover 200E or E200 and M111 engine. I have an E200 overseas and thought of using it for that car.

Excellent product for maintaining your E124
Gemma At Rainbow Farm. The Next Morning.I recently purchased a W124, and needed some way to know what needed to be done regularly to maintain it.We looked at all the books and manuals available and then someone on a forum suggested that we look at this book.We did and ended up purchasing it.It does everything we needed it for, tells me all about looking after my beautiful E260 and it has to be one of the better buys i have made from Amazon.Well recommended.

Not a bible
Very general data. Didn't give me any REAL data other than fluid capacities. Would not use for any maintenance. How is this a bible?

Not enough technical information
Very generic and somewhat dated information on Mercedes E class vehicles. One section talks about finding a car by going to a dealership or looking in the classified section in your local newspaper. Thanks for that...What I would really like to know is what the spark plug gap is supposed to be on my M103 engine but you will not find that information anywhere in this book.
