A dream cast classic
Mine had no manual but even without the manual I still had fun, also to all those who never played this the controls might feel weird but I got used to them quickly

Incredible versus mech action game.
Incredible versus mech action game. Features a loud, upbeat soundtrack and stylish visuals that can still impress. Very cool mechs, designed by Hajime Katoki, known for working on Gundam designs.Somewhat hampered by the Dreamcast controller (curve dashing is a problem, you can't easily control Cypher's jet mode, etc -- there aren't enough buttons on it!), and you can't freely configure the control setup like the original game on the Saturn. The arcade mode midboss is painfully hard, too -- the final boss is significantly easier.Great fun with friends, remember to tell them to jump-cancel to face their opponent (Y then A in rapid succession)!Being a versus oriented game, vaguely similar to a fighting game, it's meant to be played with other people.

Blast from the past
I played this game when it was an arcade game way back in the day and loved it!It is a little different then the arcade and the controls take a little getting used to but a fun game overall

Not a hardcore gamer? Then don't bother...
This game is very difficult for beginners to pickup. After playing the home version with the DC controler I realized how much I miss those twin sticks. Trying to get use to the controls takes a very long time and the pay off isn't worth it.Graphics are only as good as the arcade version (perfect port of the arcade visually), which is now dated.Hardcore Virtual On fans seem to like it a lot, everyone else should pass. There are better rewarding games that take less time to figure out. Oh yeah, where is the Internet play Activision?

My Erection For Robots Has Become Enlarged and Engorged
Virtual On, one of the best mech games ever created, only second or third to games like ZOE2. Prior to its reputation being humiliated, degraded, and shat on, with the release of "Virtual On: MARZ", Virtual On Oratorio Tangram was one of the best mech fightings games available on the market (and with its release on the Xbox market place it is yet again). This version in particular lacks the spice which the Japanese version packed but its still a very good game in itself. Also one thing I'd like to point out is the controls, many people like to say its twinsticks or no go, but really thats just being absolutely anal! The only things that are impossible would be moves that require rotation+ button to be performed and the use of basic rotation itself. If facing the enemy is an issue you can just use an extremely (and I mean EXTREMELY) quick jump cancel to reset your view onto the opponent, or you can just attack while performing a turbo boost. As for rotation attacks you're probably only missing out on 1 or 2+ moves depending on the mech, and this may or may not be a loss depending on whether or not the move(s) is useful. Outside of the controls, the game itself is still fast paced fun, with a few mechs to choose from, if there are unlockables, I haven't gotten them yet. While the game features an arcade mode where the ultimate boss is a giant eye, it really shines in multiplayer. So if you have friends force them to play with you NOW! Oh, and also in terms of the arcade, some people seem to think that the AI opponents are difficult, this is really only the case if you don't know how to manuever, however, the AI can still pose a good challenge, I just wish most of them weren't such panzies when it came to melee. Speaking of melee, depending on the range the game changes. At mid to long range its a fast-paced competitive shooting game with several weapons and moves at your disposal, however at close combat, it suddenly becomes like a fighter game with a quick-step function combos and sequences for attacks and a blocking mechanism. It really is quite impressive. All in all I really enjoy this game and reccomend it.

This game is AWESOME !!
Who said you need nextegen consoles for having serious fun ? I just bought a dreamcast and got this game with twinstick. What can I say ? It absolutely rocks and is considered one of the best dreamcast games and one of the best arcade games ever.I played first with the pad and it's very playable too, just need some practice. Then I found on the web the rare twinsticks and...oh..my! I played for two hours..it's completely different and amazing and the actions so amazing fast. Real 60 fps. By the way, Dreamcast was a very impressive console. I recommend this game to everybody. A piece of game history. It rocks ! If you wanna play real HEAVY..come HEAVY..so you got to buy twisticks for all the moves and tricks ;-)
