The Official Doom Survivor's Strategies & Secrets Pap/Dis Edition

The Author is vivid and keeps the game rolling through the pages, my copy was missing the shareware disks but I already have more than enough of DOOM in almost every catagory and I am not much of a collector of Rubbish that I dont need, DOOM is anywhere if you look under the skin.this book is missing the "thy Flesh Consumed" Episode and only covers DOOM not Ultimate DOOM, the revision is not as tour de force as this rendition but buy them both they look cool on the shelf. This version is Utterly complete for its time, but the revision is a gritty mess of very helpful logic which sends you from one thing to another all on your own.

Sadly, the guide doesn't include every bit of secret that you need to know about this game.Also, Jonathan Mendoza should have included exclusive interviews the dynamic duo Carmack & Romero.Otherwise, a good example of a well done Strategy Guide.Still worth buying!

Mendoza writes a fine descriptive guide about everyone's favorite shooter. Each map is outlined in detail, and the English is clear and concise. Although not very rare yet, this book is surely a future collectible and a general must-have for lovers of Doom. Get it while it's cheap; it even comes with Doom Shareware on two floppies!4.5/5 because the book contains no color screenshots and is in an "Idiot's Guide" format instead of really being in a guide format. But Sybex published the book, so this can be expected.
