Works With Google Home Max!
For several years I had problems with my Google Home Max dropping the wifi signal and freezing up. Out of sheer frustration I looked into bypassing wifi and using an ethernet direct signal into the Home Max. I read about someone with a similar problem who used the Plugable USB-C to Ethernet adapter with good results so I gave it a try. Success!!! The Plugable adapter worked perfectly with no special drivers or configuration. It was plug and play. And now my Google Home Max plays GREAT with NO drop-outs or freezing. I wish I did this years ago. Thank you Plugable for a great product!!!

Workes Great - Google Home Max now on wired Ethernet Network.
Worked great. Used this to add my Google Home Max to my Ethernet (wired) network. Just plug it in and it worked. I'll be able to use this for other devices such as my laptop that does not have an RJ45 Ethernet port. Perfect device for me.One thing that I did not know was that if I could add a Google MAX that is wired to the Ethernet LAN to a speaker group or not. I could do so successfully. Works great, speaker syncs to other wireless Google Home Max speakers. Very happy with this adapter. Recommended.

Quick to install and works great on my NUC
I have a 12th generation Intel NUC Pro with a built in Intel Nic. It worked great for several months but then the Nic decided it only wanted to work at 100mbps. After messing with it I decided I had better ways to spend my time and purchased this adaptor. This is working great. The lights are very bright so I would not recommend it for a computer in the bedroom unless you can hide it well but the function seems perfect.

Linux driver works but state is wrong
Excellent speed, 930mbits both waysHigh CPU load in linux; their 2.5gbit USB is easier on the CPU.Linux loads an unexpected driver, ethtool reports half duplex on all connections, refuses to set mode,But connection is full duplex, performance is good.

Just Plug it in.
Update: Received another one that plugs into the regular usb port and it is much faster sono techie facts to prove it but this one seems much faster"Anker USB 3.0 to Ethernet Adapter, USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, Aluminum Portable USB-A Adapter, Compatible with MacBook Pro 2015, MacBook Air 2017,"Just started using it. Super easy. Open package Plug it in and my Windows 10 laptop with the broken ethernet pork now back on ethernet. Not being a techie and having a slow connection anyway...can't be sure if this slowed it down more or not. I am on line and happy. Dreaming some day of getting an apple laptop and escaping all the bloated windows crap and updates that help to slow this thing down.Hope this lasts, worth it to avoid toxic wifi

This adapter works with Moto G7 phones and Lenovo TAB10 tablet
I have been trying different Ethernet to USB C adapters to be able to run my Moto G7 Power directly from my router. Working to keep WiFi radiated energy low when I sleep. I tried a Belkin adapter but no go, even though it did work on my laptop. However, when I connected the Plugable adapter the phone and my Lenovo TAB10 both connected in a couple of seconds. So far, my research has indicated few adapters that will work properly with older and newer phones and tablets, although this is not to say there are not others. As a bonus, the Ethernet connection is quite a bit faster than the WiFi connection and it automatically shuts off the WiFi connection. I haven't found a selection on either of my devices that let's me monitor the connection, my research indicates that some phones and tablets have that ability. You can tell you are connected on newer phones by looking at the upper right top of the device where you will see an icon that looks like this <-->, to arrow heads with 3 dots (not dashes, couldn't do dots here) between them that indicates you are connected to your router via a direct Ethernet connection. Older/other phones may show different connection icons.

Not AX88179 Chipset anymore
First time I ordered this adapter, it had the AX88179 chipset like it says in the description. Ordered 4 more and they all came with a AX88179A chipset (“A” at the end). The difference is that only the first one I ordered is compatible with the Sony camera I’m plugging it into. The additional 4 I ordered are not compatible due to the new chipset. Description needs to be updated to reflect this change in the product.

Simple and easy!
I bought this adapter to use for my nintendo switch in handheld mode, so my review will be entirely based on that. We have terrible Wi-Fi that doesn't reach my part of the house, and I was in search of a solution. After some research, I'd bought a USB-C to Ethernet port adapter on Amazon for $10.00, but I'd fail to also research beforehand that only certain types of cables and ports would work with the Switch. The one I bought previously didn't work, and I had felt hopeless that I wasn't able to game comfortably in bed in handheld mode.Fortunately, I came across this USB-C to Ethernet cable, and gave it another chance. I was hesitant, but I'm glad that I took the chance. I took it out of the plastic box, plugged it into my switch, plugged the ethernet cord into the other end and seconds later, it was all properly hooked up with the appropriate speed (My internet isn't the best, so the speeds are a reflection of that and not the product itself). For the price that I paid ($18.00), it was definitely worth the hassle-free experience, and I wish I had just spent a little more the first time around for this cable.I haven't had long sessions of gaming yet, so I will edit my review after some continuous use, but I can proudly vouch that the first impressions have been positive!
