I have a whole house water filter and water softener. My pipes have no residue in them. Any water splashes in the kitchen or bathrooms never leave any residue anywhere. These are a little more pricey but easy to set up. Used the last one for five months. After putting new new one in I didn't notice any difference in taste. Coffee maker works fine with these.
