My garbage disposal had a humming sound so I thought I was screwed after 4 years of very light use. At first, I thought it was the fuse or outlet but I plugged in another device (hair dryer) and it worked. So I can rule out the outlet having issues.I looked at the bottom of the disposal for a protruding red button but it would not be tripped since I hardly use the disposal.Then I did some research about garbage disposals and trouble shooting which led me to this tool. I bought the $8 one because if I figured I want it to bend or break so I don't do further damage to the disposal.As soon as I put the wrench in the bottom middle of the disposal, I started turning. It was a bit tough at first but go clock wise and counter clock wise until it is somewhat smooth. It felt I was turning the wheels to crush something like a small seed.Then I plugged back in the disposal and hit the power! Music to my ears, everything sounds normal once again. This little tool worked and saved me lots of money from not having to buy a new disposal or "calling a plumber."Caution: When looking into the disposal or putting your hand in for troubleshooting, ALWAYS unplug the disposal. It is also recommended that you unplug when using this tool.

Worked Great
I have a Badger garbage disposal that motor went on but would not turn the blades.Tried resetting, didn't work. Looked on internet and found a YOUTUBE video showing using the wrench. Got this one and after a couple of minutes of using it started working . Great Tool
