A Great Addition to Dungeons & Dragons 5e
I love this book. This book has helped me come up with creative ideas for monsters in my new D&D campaign. My friends are more experienced players, and I'm a fledgling DM. This book has helped me find, and employ new challenges for my more seasoned players. It worth a look at least. I highly recommend it to you.

Keep your players on their toes!
Not the biggest fan of 3rd party material or homebrew stuff but I absolutely love these booksI own both of them and highly recommend them to any dm that has players that know or look up stuff in the monster manual

A great book that outpaces alot of what WotC typically puts out
As a DM who loves finding new and interesting creatures to throw at my players, books like these are a godsend. My only complaint is the actual page quality is pretty bad, it genuinely feels like printer paper along with the ink itself being choppy in some areas.

More monsters than you'll ever need.
Meet the people at Kobold Press at Gen Con 2021 and convinced me to purchase Tome of Beasts One and Creature Codex both I highly recommend. Between these three books you got 1200 optional Monsters for your 5-edition game. They quality, care, and versatility is astounding. Whether you use these books for their Midgard games or to add to your D&D 5th edition campaign, you are going to like what you have here,. Love the Clockwork creations and many of the Fey creatures. They share in the same vagueness you see in 5th edition Monster Manuals, which does allow for the DM to build on their own interpretation, while I like a bit more "meat and potatoes" for my descriptions and background. But that's my personal opinion. You definitely get what you pay for with this book and the other Kobold Press books. So I highly recomend DMs and players and for RPG fans like me who love a good monster book.

Excellent Monster Additions for 5e. Not just reskinned meat bags...
I purchased this book to fill out a lack of depth in the CR8-13 range that my group was facing. A lot of monsters used in the module we are running are based on Damage Resistance (DR) to boost their CR and were thus a little oversimplified to encounter. These monsters in Tome of Beats II have a lot of cool abilities. My favorite sub-type in the book is the Drakes (lesser Dragon Type creatures) but the majority of creatures in the book have abilities that really showcase what makes them unique and brings them to life in a "realistic" and more lethal way. I have only used a handful of creatures from this book in 5e games so far, but they have proved exciting in encounters.I am unfamiliar with other RPGs but for 5e D&D this is a great supplement.

Another Fantastic Monster Book
Kobold Press has done it again with yet another excellent monster book. If you're looking for a new Big Bad or just interesting creatures to use, this book has you covered. Dragons, Drakes, Fey, Fiends, Dinosaurs, Oozes, and so much more; each and every one of them having their own piece of wonderful art.In traditional Kobold Press style, there are some creatures that are completely bizarre, like the Ogrepede (a centipede literally composed of over a dozen ogres), and the Toad King, a fey that likes to trick adventurers into going on elaborate quests to end his froggy "curse" (that doesn't actually exist), and he even includes a convenient table for examples of such quests.Like the original Tome of Beasts and the Creature Codex, the creatures in this book are a little stronger than most equivalent CR creatures published by WOTC, which I personally prefer, but could cause an issue if you just throw them at a party without knowing that ahead of time.Overall, the book is a great addition to my 5th edition collection, and I'm quite happy to have another 350+ well designed creatures to choose from.

Excellent selection of new challenges for your players
There are some really inventive monsters and abilities here. 43 new Fey creatures, 48 undead, 44 aberrations ... even the smaller categories such as oozes, Giants and Celestials are represented by ten or more species. You won't use all of them but when you need some inspiration dip in and find something inspiring to create an encounter around whether it's a fey puppeteer (Jack of Strings) or an undead mage killer (Scroll Mummy) or the monsterous Stormboar with it's lightning and thunder based attacks and abilities there are creatures where lore and abilities combine logically and evocatively. Some are a little silly (for me) or more complex than they perhaps need to be - but that is rare. This is not a book where you pick out the one or two good monsters its a book where you can lift out monster after monster and drop them into your campaign with confidence. Compared to their previous offerings of the Tome of Beasts and the Creature Codex, I think this might actually be the best of the three - certainly no drop off of quality.

kobold press does it again!
as a dm who is building my own campaign world from scratch this book alongside the other 2 Kobold press has made (tome of beasts and creature codex) have been invaluable for helping me litter dungeons and ruins with monsters that are different to the norm that folks will expect from the monster manual...i highly recommend dm's pick up both this book and the other 2 mentioned above as they'll be invaluable for your games.

So many new critters.
As always, Kobold Press provides nearly excessive amounts of creatures, that is what I'm after. No regrets buying any of the Kobold Press 5e content so far.As usual, a few things balance is a bit off, but overall the book is fantastic.
