Beyond excellent! From someone who has had many wifi radios.
Belong I paste a 2019 review of the earlier Ocean Digital portable model, a fine radio with one minor defect, a small screen that was greyish and rather dim. I have poor vision but still managed. The new version, the one I am reviewing, has all the features of the earlier model and now a GREAT large color screen that is much more user friendly. I gave one of these radios to a skeptical friend who said he probably would never use it, and now he writes to say he uses it throughout the day. Sound is clearer on this one, and the equalizer for tone not so hard to find. The designer of this new one noted all the weakish spots of the earlier model, and not only fixed them but went way beyond in fine tuning. One reviewer seemed unhappy with this device, and my sense is he or she expected it to be like an AM radio with a dial for stations. Of course wifi does not work that way, but you can search by continent, or country, or genre, and within a country for genre -- so if you want "talk" from Italy you can find it and, in this newer model, find it quickly An electrical device as well thought out and pleasing as something made by Steve Jobs. A strong recommendation. And now here my 2019 review of the earlier model: ....... "Immensely impressed. I have had internet wifi radios for many years, and was one of the first in the US to get one. This is a superior radio in many ways. The internet in my home is cheap and weak, and yet this picks up easily and securely, when two of my other wifi radios, table models, often get no signal. The radio is so small I can carry it with me easily from room to room, or in a suitcase. About the size of a paperback book. The setup, once you read the instructions and realize that the OK button is often the wrong one, and the arrow-forward button is the one you need to SET a command, is smart and intuitive, easy, and very sane. I put twenty stations into memory in not much time, and suspect that will hold me for a long time. The sound is good, and although the volume maximum is by no means loud (perhaps a little too low on some stations), generally the volume is good enough – at least for voices, for BBC, for NPR – but not perhaps for music. Yet in the headphone jack I can stick in an aux speaker if I want a crowd pleaser, or a headphone, and the volume is good. And in STEREO with headset or auxiliary speaker. This radio has been well designed and very well thought out, even I think with a slight delay when you hit a button – in case you got it wrong and want to retract your finger. I am accustomed to RECIVA and PURE networks, but the one this radio uses SKYTUNE, although different, is just as good and maybe better. I have found a few stations, like NYC WQXR Q2 or New Sounds band, here, and not elsewhere (andnot, for example, on Alexa). A solid feel, good broadcast FM with antenna (although I set my necessary FM stations on internet wifi and they are better there). My eyes are not good and the screen is small, maybe too small, but I can live with it. Yes, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS carefully, and they are very clear, clean, and helpful, with some welcome surprises for easy setup and use. I suspect I will be in the market for other WIFI radios by this manufacturer, OCEAN DIGITAL. I’m happy. And not much makes me happy these days (December 2019) in Washington DC "

Amazing internet radio, simple to use and very portable. Very clever device.
This is a wonderful radio. Haven't used the FM or DAB yet, but I've had it on my favorite internet radio stations for nearly 8 hours/day since it came in the mail last week. In the afternoons I like to take it out on my porch - the wifi signal is strong enough there allowing it to play flawlessly. It is simple to set up and use, sounds great on its own for a radio of its size but even better when you use a 3.5mm cord to attach it to a larger external speaker (I'm playing it right now through my Bose Mini Soundlink II and it sounds marvelous!) I've discovered many new radio stations going through the Skytune portal, manually adding them to my radio (there is supposedly a way to do this from your PC without having to key them in on the radio but I don't know how that's done). This little radio is a huge game changer for me. I will be traveling with it next trip for sure - it's super portable due its size. This is probably the cleverest and most enjoyable "internet gadget" I've bought in many years. If you're on the fence about it, pull the trigger and add this little beauty to your cart - you won't be disappointed.

This Ocean Digital Internet radio is real joy.
This Ocean Digital Internet radio is real joy.Pros:- Sound quality is Very good, especially for voice/talk. Very clear, bright sound that is easy to listen to.- This radio operates on an internal lithium 18650 rechargeable battery that is re-charged using a USB 3.0 connector.- The display is a 2.4" LCD color display that is a little small but very readable.- WiFi was great, I had no problems connecting the WR-23F radio to my Wifi, and it maintained a solid connection throughout my home. As a general rule, if you can connect your cell phone or tablet to your WiFi at a given location in your home, you should have no issues connecting this radio from that same location.Cons:- The 5-volt USB wall charger necessary to recharge your radio is not included.- The case feels like rather cheap feeling plastic.- WiFi works great, but is limited to 2.4Mhz connections. The radio cannot use 5Mhz WiFi.- Music sounds a little tinny but is pretty good considering the size of this radio.General:Once connected to WiFi, you search for stations using the built-in Skytune by searching for them using the radio's tiny display and radios buttons.Optionally, you can connect to skytune.net, search for stations and save them in your favorites list. You can even enter software that resides in your radio to add/remove or manage favorites. The WiFi and Bluetooth is provided by a Espressif Corp Wifi/Bluetooth chipset. The Wifi is solid but is limited to 802.11(b/G/N). It also supports Wifi protected by WEP, WPA and WPA2. This chip also provides bluetooth support with this radio. The radio also offers FM reception, which works fine with stronger local stations but does not provide reliable reception on weaker FM stations. This radio also tunes DAB and DAB+, which are a digital, over-the-air radio service used in the EU, the UK, parts of Africa, Asia and Australia. DAB and DAB+ is NOT supported in the United States, Canada and Mexico. There is 3 quick tune buttons that store one station. Push any of these buttons to quickly tune to the station stored there.I previously had the Ocean Digital WR-26 which is a great radio. It is a very similar radio with a bit better, and louder sound. But returned the WR-26 to get the WR-23F. The much larger color display and added features make the WR-23F made it a much more pleasurable experience for me.Follow up....Had this radio about 2-1/2 years. Nothing has changed... Except I have developed a battery issues. I generally only charge the radio about one or twice a month and I do not use it on battery power. Still, the original battery has seemingly become unusable. While it will charge, the charging indicator shows it fully charged after about just 20 minutes. Obviously this isn't right. In operation, the battery will die and the radio will shut off after only about 30 minutes. So much for relying on cheap Chinese lithium cells.
