I've used it with a HP thin client (DVI & VGA) to connect to a 12" portable LCD HDMI display. Worked fine for EGA text, then the 1980x1024 GUI while running Linux. Also tried it with a DVI to VGA adapter ahead of the VGA to HDMI adapter and it still worked fine. Should be OK for purpose as long as you have an open USB port or a USB battery bank to power the VGA to HDMI converter electronics. I zip tied the USB cable and audio cable to the VGA adapter to make sure they stayed together in the laptop bag. The USB power is REQUIRED for the VGA conversion, audio is optional.

I got this VGA to HDMI adapter to connect my old pc to a modern HDMI monitor, and it worked great right out of the box. The video signal is clear at 1080p, and audio transmits perfectly when you plug in the USB power cable to a 5V source (like a PC USB port). Pros: - True plug and play, no drivers needed. - Compact and lightweight. - Good 1080p@60Hz video and synced audio quality. Cons: - No 4K support and unidirectional only (VGA source to HDMI display). - The included USB cable is quite short. Overall, a great budget choice if you have legacy VGA gear and need to hook it up to modern HDMI TVs or projectors. Highly recommended for basic use.

Didn’t work for me

Works pretty good. With poor vision using a 32" old TV (not a smart TV) as a computer monitor has helped a bit. The adapter dies not transfer sound so I have speakers connected to computer

It looks good and if it worked it would perfect. Once plugged in to laptop and tv plugged power and nothing happens.

Works PERFECTLY to use with my old desktop pc with a modern flat screen tv with HDMI cable. Old monitor finally literally blew up and you can't really find the old heavy tv type monitors any more. I've had to adjust the screen settings on the 24 inch tv I bought as my new monitor and also on my PC settings just to get the best results. For most things I can use the full wide screen function. At least one app though I have to use the old setting due to distortion of the image I want to see (dvd labels). I also adjusted the PC screen settings to get a better resolution on the screen. The sound works through this as well as picture but I prefer using my stand alone speakers.

I am able to get 1920x1080 consistently through this adapter when connected through a KVM switch with only one of my two computers. Works with old computer: Lenovo T440p laptop. Unable to get consistent results with Dell Vostro 200 with a ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 series graphics card; I saw 1920x1080 through this adapter, but my computer went to a lower resolution upon restart. An alternate brand (BENFEI) seemed to work more consistently with the ATI Radeon. This is not to say that this adapter couldn't be made to work consistently with the ATI Radeon, it's just that I had the alternate brand, and when I hooked that one up, it worked and didn't seem to require any tweaks.

Bought for an N54L HP Microserver which only has a VGA port. Worked great to get modern monitors connected to it that no longer provide a VGA connection. No visible loss of quality or connection issues.

It works amazing

Funciona muy bien, la imagen es 1920x1080 a 60p Hz es lo que soporta el monitor, reconoció rápido el transmisor solo que tuve que configurar la pantalla a la resolución que en mi caso no fue automático, se calienta pero no es excesivo el uso a sido de días completos. Es justo lo que esperaba un muy buen producto y un funcionamiento excelente, altamente recomendado.

Comprei, demorou para chegar, mas quando chegou não decepcionou. Funciona super bem e agora consigo usar as duas telas no meu computador
