Works with 8awg wire.
Worked great on the roof of my RV. Half the size of the OEM one installed on the other side. Was able to fit 8awg wire through the connectors without issue.Started installation by removing a recessed light in the bedroom that was 8 inches from a wall. Lights just release and hang; they are held in with 2 spring clips. Reached in with my hand and felt a plastic vent pipe going to through the wall to the roof. Went on the roof and drilled a 1/2 inch hole down through the roof and through the 2x2 stud going across the wall. Ran 2 8awg wires down and pulled them out through a small hole I made in the wall under the sink.Ended up ripping the whole thing apart and made the hole 1 1/4 inch to be able to use this wall as a chase.Unit installed on the roof with butyl tape and Dicor. Fastened it with 4 screws. Looks great.

A decent, ABS feed-through housing with two compression glands.
If you're feeding cables (think solar, although there are many other possibilities such as CATV) through something like an RV roof you have a basic problem -- how to do it without water getting in.If you're ok with the feed coming from the bottom then a clamshell works for spray, and you can caulk that (with something removable, like silicone) around the edges. But that will not take direct exposure, which is why the clamshell. This is designed for direct exposure such as wind-driven on-axis (whether from wind or driving) and to keep the weather out.Which it does, and the housing is wide enough at the base to use screws, something like a marine-grade sealant (e.g. 4200) or, even better, both -- just use stainless for the screws if you want to be able to get them back out (and you probably do.)The only thing to be aware of is that this is ABS -- that is, PLASTIC -- not fiberglass. Were it fiberglass with gelcoat it would probably last 20 years in the sun. It might look like it had been in a war, but it would be fine. Being ABS expect about five in full sun exposure, and check it YEARLY. That thing about screws being removable up above, yeah, that's why -- you will eventually have to replace it, so do think about that and how you'll unthread the wiring to do so.For this application there isn't better that I can find, so yes, highly recommended. Just use your head.

Solves waterproof issues.
Easy to install. When using it to go through metal, trim the metal so it doesn't come in contact with your wires, or have the metal a 16th of an inch bigger than the opening. Low profile and has an angle area, if using on a vehicle or towed vehicle, place it so the angled part towards the front.

Nice.
Very nice. Feels like quality materials.Doesn’t have pre drilled holes for mounting which I suppose is good to let you decide where and how many mounting holes you want
