Stopped one cat's vomiting immediately
We rescued six feral kittens/cats. Three were vomit queens with three distinctly different "puke patterns". We slowly introduced this into their food hoppers, mixing a larger amount each day with their old food. The most successful mix -- where we are now -- seems to be 75% Merrick with 25% regular kibble. One of the cats completely stopped vomiting as a result of the food and it made our lives so much better with the decrease in cleanup. Two of them continued to vomit. One had an odd pattern of giving some primeval screech/meow and then barfing some very-digested brown goo, usually several hours after eating. This happened at least once a day, and sometimes more. There was one large deposit, and then a small spot a couple seconds later. It did not seem related to the brand or type of food she ate. Our vet diagnosed a possible cat auto-immune issue that affects their gastro-intestinal systems. As an experiment, she gave Kitty a shot of steroids and the puking stopped that very day. Now she gets .3ml of Prednisone (liquid compounded with poultry flavor) daily and has completely stopped vomiting. She's is happy and playful where before she was often hunkered and scrunched as if in pain. The other of the three was in the wild the longest. Probably her instincts say that she may not be secure as to her next meal so simply gorges and then pukes immediately. It will continued unless/until she knows we won't let her starve. All of six of them are healthier with shinier coats. Two (non-pukers) are food obsessed and fat. We haven't seen a decrease in their weight from this food, but that may occur over time. So, all of the this review isn't about the Merrick food, which we will continue to use because it has eliminated barfing for one cat and all of them are more beautiful with the new diet. I added the info about the steroids in case others are researching different cat foods as it relates to vomiting. It could be an auto-immune issue and nothing to do with food. It's important, as they are in pain (per the vet).

Wonder Product
This food is wonderful quality! Both of my cats love it. It has good quality ingredients, and I'm assuming they love the taste because they chow down on it. Kitten to adult products as they grow.

More crumbles 🤦🏽♂️
Cat loves it… but this product grew more and more crumbly overtime.

More expensive-But worth every penny!
I love the option that I can buy our cat's food on amazon, and it comes straight to my door! We do not live near a place that sells Merrick cat food, so we would have to try and guess how long the cat food would last, until we could drive almost an hour to get more. I like knowing this cat food has more protein then any other cat food, that I've seen. Even the other cat foods that are more expensive because they are suppose to be the best food for your cat. We have a Maine Coon cat, the best food for this breed of cat is one that has a very high percentage of protein, which this is 40% protein. It also has no grain, which is a plus-no filler to make the cat full. Our Maine Coon loves the taste and when we switched him over to this he stopped eating as much (once again-this has no grain and that means no filler, to just make your cat feel full for a little while) and he slimmed down a bit. Yes this food is more expensive then some you would buy at big box stores, but it is a lot healthier then the other foods.

Excellent quality!
Close to perfect for all my cats! After over 50 years of multiple cat ownership, I have learned that *no* cat food is totally perfect for every cat in the world - not even for every one of the eight cats currently living in my household. You find whatever is closest for the majority, and provide whatever might be additionally required for any cat with individual special needs.I have also learned that, as a rule, cats don't appreciate changes in their diets, and you have give them time to adjust to something new. Please don't permit your cat to dictate what you feed it! They often make unwise choices - which I quickly learned when I began seriously reading and comparing the labels that list the contents of the food. Even many of the "big name" companies have cat food that is comparable to humans' "junk food" - and you wouldn't permit your child to live on candy and potato chips simply because that was the food your child preferred!I have also learned from several veterinarians that good quality canned food should be fed in addition to dry kibble - for a variety of reasons. This is always recommended, *unless* it's specifically directed otherwise by your vet due to a medical condition. This product is, in a word, EXCELLENT. I had been feeding an expensive kibble, produced by a major manufacturer, that contained as the MAJOR INGREDIENTS!) brewers rice, poultry by-product meal (and you can imagine what "poultry by-products are") and corn gluten meal. Poultry by-products can contain ground feathers, feet and toenails - anything not fit for normal consumption. Read what's on the label of your current cat food and compare it to Merrick cat foods - then decide what you want to feed your cat. And don't let your cat manipulate you into feeding her/him "kitty junk food" that tastes good to them because of things like "animal liver flavor" and "filet mignon flavor" - which would probably make cardboard tasty but which has zero nutritional value!

Only Food My Cat Will Eat
My cat has heart worms, likely from birth or right after. They make her sick frequently. This is the only dry food my cat will eat. She has eaten it daily for years.

My Cat Likes It.
My cat gets this exact dry food everyday. Separately he also gets a little wet food. This is the only dry food he has eaten for his 13 years. He grazes at it everyday, and by the next morning he has finished the properly measured amount ready to start again. I’d say that’s an excellent testimonial from a user.
