Incredibly luxurious, but a bit high maintenance
Being 6 weeks postpartum, I was very excited to have a new set of nice sheets to sleep in...I mean as much sleep as a parent can with a newborn. When they first arrived, I was very surprised by the weight of the sheets, followed by an appreciation of the packaging. After immediately taking the sheets out of its cloth bag, the material was already very soft and felt of high quality. I even nicknamed these sheets the “sexy sheets” because of how silky they are! Now I’m one of those people who washes fabrics before its first use, so the first wash would be the first sign of how well it might hold up.Following the care instructions, when I pulled the sheets out of the dryer, they were even softer and surprisingly had no static to them (we don’t use softener). I will say the one downside to these bamboo sheets is either having to air dry them or drying on very low due to potential shrinkage. I air dried them and had to do a couple cycles despite the instructions saying they dry quickly.Putting the sheets on the mattress was easy since they had extra deep pockets to really ensure they wouldn’t ride up while sleeping. Now about that first night...It was magic. These are the sheets for people who like to sleep in their birthday suit. Super soft and silky against the skin and so enticing you’ll never want to get out of bed. If it weren’t for a toddler and a newborn, I probably would spend all day in the comfort of my bed and Taft sheets. The novelty of these sheets still haven’t worn off and as long as they continue to maintain its integrity, I don’t think it will. These are by far my most favorite sheets and I hope they get softer with each wash.*Update: second wash. Since we have a baby, we had some spit up on the sheets and I was curious how the sheets would wash. There were some fresh and dried spit up stains and let’s be real, no one has time to pull the sheets each time a baby spits up and then hunt for the spots through all the loose fabric.Due to the nature of the fabric, I knew there was the potential for staining, but I really wanted to see how high maintenance these sheets would be, so I didn’t pre-treat. The majority of the stains came out, but there are still a few visible spots. Since these are primarily air dried, maybe I’ll take the time to pretreat and give them another go through the wash. Will most likely give another update.

Very Silky
I had bamboo sheets about 10 years ago and they took hours to dry which made me nervous to try this set. Ultimately, I ordered because the quantity and quality of reviews was hard to ignore. The reviews are right. These sheets are wonderful. The material is really soft and has a sheen to it almost like silk. If these sheets were a dress, the fabric would hug your curves and the weight would make it fall in all the right places. They shipped very quickly and upon arrival there was no plastic or chemically smell which was a nice surprise considering some of the bedding you purchase online these days. I laundered the sheets straight out of the package, but my washer was brand new and got a little grease on the sheets. I was so worried these black stains would leave a permanent mark on my brand-new white sheets, but with some spot treatment and another wash the stains came right out which was so relieving. They also only took one dry cycle to dry completely (this was with a bunch of other bedding too so I was very pleased). When making the bed, the fitted sheet has a really thick elastic band making the sheets fit nice and tight. I put the sheets on immediately after the dryer each time I wash it and while there are some wrinkles, they are not really noticeable once you climb into bed. I will note that the second time I washed them I left the pillowcases in the basket for a few hours and they were beyond wrinkly, so I would recommend just washing and using immediately if you can. They recommend line drying the set, but March in Vermont really doesn’t bode well for drying wet items outside…The sheets are really soft to sleep on without the pilling that Jersey cotton has or the stifling heat that flannel provides. I am an active sleeper and I felt like I could move really freely even with the 3 extra blankets on top. They also do not get staticky or sticky with movement or coming out of the dryer. The sheets also sleep cool and feel surprisingly breathable considering the weight. The pillow cases are silky and have an inside flap that keeps the pillow in place.Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience and will be ordering another set for the other bedrooms.

THE BEST NO JOKE
I don’t typically spring for $100 sheets, or even $50 sheets, despite being the princess & the pea kinda persnickety. But I also have discovered how superior to cotton bamboo rayon/viscose is for temperature regulation and softness. I don’t like a “crisp” sheet feel, and nor do I like satiny slick feel. These have the sheen and buttery softness of natural silk, but are not slippery or sweaty like polyester satin. In fact, I’m finally using the top sheet after like 8+ years of not because my husband hates them, at least in his sleep. We have a Buffy Breeze, which is fantastic, but I’ve missed my top sheet 😭 But he loves these sheets, even his asleep self likes the top sheet, and for the first time in so long, I’ve been waking up with a top sheet ON MY BODY. These are worth the cost if you like nice, soft, luxurious things, bedding that keeps cool, and/or have a complicated sleeping situation. I don’t know if we’ll be able to go back. We’re gonna have to start a sheet fund.Oh, also, the color is beautiful. It’s a vibrant navy, more like a dark royal blue or sapphire rather than your typical muted navy, which I love. More colors please!!
