Powdered drinks, smoothies, it does both with ease! I've mixed up yogurt, almond butter & protein powder into a smooth delicious drink with this in just a couple shakes, it just blows my mind!BUT...the lid does tend to leak when I refill it. I don't know what that is about & it really bums me out since I tend to have a red performance drink first thing in the morning & then refill my bottle with water after, so sometimes it will drip red onto my shirt when I take a sip. I have taken to wrapping a paper towel around the edge of the lid to keep this from happening, but that looks ridiculous.So, I give it a 4, because it does work fantastic. I load it up with protein in the bottom and 10-12oz water (or sometimes coffee) and throw it in my bag for work or gym. It's ready to mix and drink when I need it. The cyclone attachment comes off for cleaning, but can be easily put back on so you don't lose it like all those springy metal balls.The only caution I give is that sometimes a couple drops of liquid will stick in the mouthpiece cover. Then when you tilt the cup all the way up to get that last drink, those drops will fall on your face.
