Amazing tone, good price and spectacular build quality
I was afraid JHS' budget line would sacrifice quality; but this stomp box has everything I'd expect from a more expensive JHS pedal. Inspecting the quality of the internal parts is mindblowing, this thing is built solidly with some of the nicest looking solder joints I've seen in a mass manufactured pedal and with high quality components. The sound ranges from a light bathroom-ish reverb all the way up to a crazy long-trail ambient sound. I especially like turning the EQ knob and decay knob to max, and getting a crazy almost feedback static noise that I'm sure I'll hear on an indie rock record in the future. Aside from seeing how crazy it gets, this pedal nails it on a professional sounding normal reverb effect. Don't expect any 'drip' like a spring reverb unit, this pedal airs to a more modern sound. I have an EHX Holy Grail Max that I've loved for it's versatility; but it just got replaced by the JHS series 3 on my board for having simple controls and one of the most useable reverbs I've played. Also, the pre-delay switch is great, I love it to add a slapback effect with my reverb.

What a Rat should of been..
Been using Rats since the 90s and make no mistake this pedal is basically an improved Rat 2 pedal only cleaner sounding. It has more low end and a more defined sound. The EQ has a nicer treble or “top end” to it. My Rat 2 in comparison sounds harsh. I have the newer Rat 2 after my made in USA one was never returned. The toggle switch is a great feature. The down position adds more saturation and compression, which is a little better for palm mutes (although this pedal isn’t really made for that kind of thing, but it’ll nail that 70s rock sound). The up toggle position has less gain but it’s way louder and has a little more bass to it and it’s thicker sounding. This mode is excellent for big thick crunch sounds and is more fuzz like.Honestly this pedal is amazing value for money. I looked at the Walrus Audio Iron Horse but this pedal won me over as it’s way more affordable and it looks awesome. The JHS 3 series are a work of art, less is more and the art work on the pedals is clean and minimalistic and it’s grown on me big time. Very vintage sci fi looking. I’m now looking to get the delay and chorus next. It’s every bit as good as my JHS Angry Charlie. Deffo worth the money. This is an amazing distortion pedal for stoner rock and even perfect for blues!

JHS is the best
Seriously, I dont mean to fanboy or anything, but no one makes better guitar petals than JHS. The quality, the tone, the versatility. He has a YouTube channel were he demos his own pedals as well as those of others. Just pick one at random and add it to your chain. You won't regret it. They might be pricey for most, but worth the investment. I'm slowly working towards a board full of them. Not even kidding. Highly recommend.

Just buy it.
I picked this up after getting hooked on the JHS show and it's great. The release video they did on youtube is absolutely accurate. I had only ever used the reverb in Fender amps before this, all spring reverb all the time. This is not that. I'm still surprised how different the two are, and I think I prefer this one for general use.I run it with a moderate amount of verb (45%-ish), tone at noon, and 55-60% on the decay. It sounds fantastic there. Clean tones, overdrives in front of it, doesn't matter; it just sounds good. I'm not super into the big surrealist reverb tones, but this can do them well and it's fun to play with this pedal that way.Don't let the lack of a volume knob deter you. The pedal is ever so slightly more than unity output, not enough to sweat the difference at all.The pre-delay switch is really interesting. At the settings I'm running it's like I have a really subtle slap-back delay on. For country stuff that's really great, but the pre-delay shines especially well with heavier overdrive because it gives you back your clarity. There are a lot of scenarios where I want to use it, and a lot where I don't. I think the one improvement that could be made to the pedal is a remote switch option for the pre-delay control, but I get that wasn't the point of building this series. This is an always-on pedal for me and I really love what JHS does (and Wampler too). You just need to go ahead and buy it.

Bought the Reverb
I’ve been looking for a reverb for a while, and wasn’t thrilled with the reverb on the DSL40CR (almost non-existent). In addition, I didn’t need a ton of features either, and just wanted a good solid reverb. That’s what this is…… a simple, uncomplicated design that has a very pleasing to the ear sound. I could dial-in a Fender Hot Rod III style reverb, and that’s pretty good. Sounded good on both clean, and with a little dirt.If you’re looking for more ambient tones, or extra bells & whistles the RV-6, Blue Sky, and Hall of Fame are great. Rainbow Reverb is another affordable one, but you’re also looking at $140+ in price.Good stuff, I’d say I’m happy. I’ve only had it a few hours, though. If I haven’t updated this review, assume all is well. Till next time… 👍🏻

Great value for a really wide-ranging phaser
I read a lot of reviews that talk about how noisy this pedal can be, but the pedal I received is virtually transparent when it’s on or off. There’s a slight pop when turning the pedal on, but I don’t think this is much of an issue. I tend to run this pedal at a fairly low mix (like 9:00), so this could contribute to my low noise experience. As for the effect, it ranges from a subtle movement that’s just under the surface to a very throbbing, univibe-esque swoosh. Again, at a very low mix level, the effect is a nice texture to add to your tone. Of course, you can take this thing to all kinds of extremes, but I think the magic is in this pedal’s ability to finesse some phaser effect lightly over the top of your tone with the mix control. Even a wild loping phase effect can be mixed to perfection with the mix control. Build quality is nothing less than you’d expect from a boutique builder…it feels like a tank.

Clear compression and well done!
I bought it like a bet, to be used for amplified harmonica. The results were great, it gave body to Chicago sound, turning it to a fatter tone. Looks fine and it has a well weight.

Amsazing pedal!!!
It would be easy to say "for the price this pedal is great" but that's not saying enough.. The pedal is amazing and could easily be worth far more. So thankful that JHS released a line of pedals that's affordable and still the same incredible quality.

Well made and does what it is supposed to
Amazing range of reverb options. Well made. Low noise and if you have noise issues check cables and power supply and stop blaming pedal. One comment said it doesn't work in a daisy chain and requires a separate adapter or isolated supply, this is not the case. When using a daisy chain you need to consider the current requirements of all pedals turned on at the same time and the quality of the power supply. A cheap supply does not have the filtering and regulation required to supply a larger load i.e. 5-6 pedals all on at the same time.I find most issues people have is user error and a lack of electronic knowledge when it comes to this stuff. Pedal is awesome and works great.

Cambió sustancialmente mi sonido
En cuanto lo puse en mi pedal board cambió radicalmente mi sonido, suena gordo, cremoso, agudos balanceados, toneladas de gain. Quedé maravillado, JHS gracias por este maravilloso pedal.

Quality made
I like this company because of their YouTube videos and I wanted to support them. This was a cheaper way to do that. They probably have a video about a cheaper Phaser that is great, so there might be a better budget option out there. I do like the sounds this pedal can make and good build quality.
