Love it, easy to use and fun

The game mechanics are simple. The writing is clear and concise. The system promotes creativity. This game is a wonderful little rpg with lots of potential for high jinx. I’m enjoying the campaign I started immensely.

If you are looking for a TTRPG system that emphasizes roleplay over everything else and includes magic as a core mechanic of the game, then Kids on Brooms is the perfect system for you. An easy and intuitive system makes for plenty of opportunities for great experiences without getting overly-complicated with dice rolls.

But I feel like they add a bit to much out of game information, that's just a me thing, maybe some people need to be reminded or told to read the room etc, but for me it was off putting.

So far, we have only started to build our world, character creation, and a little bit of some premade collection. I had asked my son to help me create a magical themed one-shot using another RPG system for a Girl Scout event I was planning. He suggested Kids on Brooms instead and I am so glad he did. It was easy to get started and takes a collaborative approach to building the world, so it does not all fall to the GM. The girls were all able to independently create their character. Our first session came at the end of a long day, so it was short and ended with the girls in their "dorm" settling in. (we where doing a sleepover). If my plans do not go completely awry, future sessions will also incorporate tasks that will help complete some badges too. I am excited to see what adventures Mother Willow's Magical Academy students will have.

Friends are pumped to play after listening to Misfits and magic on dropout. Would’ve gotten a hardcover version if it existed but still 5 stars for the price.

I really like that it's very simple rules to understand. And it's been a really fun game that me and my players have been playing and it's a nice break from d&d every once in awhile.

I was expecting a thorough guide for rpg gameplay similar to other rpg manuals I have bought but it is definitely overpriced for a thin guide that is poorly written.
