ENGEL 13qt Leak-Proof, Air Tight, Drybox Cooler and Small Hard Shell Lunchbox for Men and Women

I purchased this cooler back in July after considerable research. I am away from home and fly frequently for my job, so I pack frozen home cooked meals to take with me. I wanted a cooler that had clasps so that I didn't have to worry about it opening during transit and would keep my food frozen for at least 5 or 6 hours. I never had a problem with food staying frozen for extended lengths of time with my previous collapsible or Igloo type coolers. The problem with the collapsible was that they don't hold up well to flight travel, and the problem with the Igloo type was that I had to tape them shut. The first time I used the Engel Cooler, I knew I had a problem. The ice melted and there was water on the outside of the cooler when it arrived on the luggage carousel. Unfortunately, I had the cooler for several months before I used it and couldn't send it back. I continued to use it, but each time the ice melt and water leak were worse. For $60 you would expect the thing to be perfect! Instead, it's an expensive piece of JUNK! Now, one of the clasps doesn't stay shut either. It opens spontaneously, so I have to tape this piece of &*^% shut also. Buyer Beware!

We bought this Engel cooler in pink for our softball tournament this weekend, because of course we needed to match our team colors AND have a cooler that keep everything cool. Performed like a champ. We were in 100 degree weather with tons of humidity. I mean, Arkansas in August is hot and humid.We were out there for over 12 hours, and our drinks were still cold and our chilly towel still cold to cool off our player. I like this cooler because the latches keep that lid shut and sealed, as opposed to our other cooler that has the button and slide down lid. Kept the cold in.Now, if you're expecting this to perform like a Yeti or similar coolers, this isn't the one for you. If you're looking for a really solid, easy to clean cooler for on the lake, all day keep it cool, then get this gem.

This thing is amazing! I live it Florida where it’s “Gates of Hell” degrees and this cooler keeps my lunch and drinks cold all day and into the evening. I’m a hospice nurse that works 10 hour shifts traveling and when I get home at the end of the day the cold packs are still icy cold!

Nice little cooler. Great for kayaking since the latches prevent spillage.

LOVE this cooler! I bought it for a lunch cooler w the intention to leave it in my car during the day. I pack It with ice or ice packs in the morning, and it maintains cold well throughout the whole day ice is still present at the end of 10 hours. It’s leak proof w the latches and seals great. Well worth $32

i love my engel box, everything fits perfect & with cold packs my things stay at a great cold temperature!

I wish it was a little more insulated. But I only grabbed it for a lunch box purposes. It is good for the purpose, not for true outdoor periods more than 1 day
