Does this take a slice of Warburtons toastie?

No it doesn’t. I purchased this expensive toaster solely on the answers below which all say yes. However it doesn’t toast the top so you have to take it out once toasted and turn it upside down and toast until it browns the entire slice. I wouldn’t recommend and I wouldn’t purchase it again. Waste of time and money.

Will this toast teacakes?

I think it would depend on the size and shape of the teacakes. The slots will hold bread slices 15mm thick or a little bit more.

Can the toast be lifted out to check, without cancelling the timer? Thanks

No the timer action must be cancelled to allow the toast lift, the timer is very accurate, we toast everything from fruit toast which requires minimum time to muffins which take the longest, normal toast is mid time. The only negative experienced is the crumb trays are at the back and require the machine to be turned around to remove and clean. The machine is very well constructed and I would recommend purchase. It's a Bosch!

Anyone know where to get the two-slot version of this?

Look on the Bosch web site for the model number and it will also give retailers names.
