Thorlos XJ Max Cushion Running Crew Socks

Walk a lot. Run a bit. Needed something that works with Nike shoes for athletics and leather Oxford shoes at the office. I tried a lot of different socks. These Thorlo XJ maximum cushion black socks work great. Good as everyday socks. Black fits with leather shoes at the office and with black sneakers for athletics. P.S. The Thorlo website recommends using fabric softener to keep the springiness in the thick cushioning. UPDATE September 2022 - still excellent cushion and comfort! I replaced all my socks with Thorlo XJs at Thorlo's December sale and wear them every day, wash mostly with fabric softener and after almost a year they're as comfortable as the first time. Far better than cotton even on a hot day! For exercise on the hottest summer days, I use a made-in-China sock that's very short, thin, has arch support elastic and some cushion. I wish there were a made-in-USA mini-sock that was as good - and I've tried a few. For hiking boots, I wear Thorlo XJ or Thorlo Wcxu Max Cushion 12 Hour Shift Crew Socks, which go higher up the ankle than the XJ's and support the arch nicely with a stronger squeeze although they're a bit too tight at the top.

The Thorlo XJ Max running crew is a great sock in my opinion. The are not too tight, I have wide feet and wide ankles so most socks tend to be too tight and small for me. These seem to have just the right amount of stretch and softness. The cushion is very useful too, if you're a runner you'll appreciate the extra cushion inside your running shoe. You may also like wearing them around the house to keep your feet warm. I'm in cold and damp Connecticut and house floors are quite cold but these Thorlo XY Max Running Crews are like wearing slipper socks. They're comfortable, cushiony and durable. Yes durable, they seem to last me years of use before they lose their cushion and get holes. Good Stuff!

I am a truck driver who spends six to ten hours a night behind the wheel. My heels would get sore every night by the end of my run. I've tried many different things to remedy this problem and these socks are the only thing that work. I've worn them every day for the last two weeks and my heels haven't hurt at all! Highly recommend. Best socks I've ever owned!

I bought 3-pair of these same socks for $18.99 back in June 2021. Great product! Holds up the best in terms of wear & tear. Have bought this brand for years, in fact. Not sure how they can justify the price increase. But a 3X jump seems a bit excessive. Gonna pass on the rebuy and looking for a lower cost replacement!

I think they should remove the Max from their description. Soft? Yes. Very comfortable? Yes. Max cushion? Nope. They're on the thinner side and breathable, but not as cushiony as the description leads you to believe. It's so hard to find a sock (not that I bought many) that is as soft and cushiony as my old Carhartt A25's. I STILL have some pairs from years ago which shows you the durability of those. But of course they were TOO good so Carhartt stopped producing them forcing buyers to get new, cheaper socks every year or so. Like any other company. Anyway, would I buy another pair? Probably not.

I don’t know what has changed. I’ve been wearing this brand of socks for years. In fact I wear nothing but thorlo BUT this order was awful. Truly! From the second I opened them they felt inferior. They always felt very plush yet this pack didn’t. When I put the first pair on they didn’t stay up around my calves. They’re horrible. Not sure what happened. I am so disappointed!!

My husband loves these socks and he is on his feet all day. I get him these for Christmas every year in his stocking.

Comfortable and smooth fitting socks.

I ordered 2 x six pack of my favourite socks (12 pairs). Initially only 6 pair arrived so customer services arranged an additional shipment. This time 3 pair arrived. So in the end I am out of pocket for 3 pair that I did not receive. Very disappointing.
