Great book for my little BB-8 fan!!!
My one year old son is OBSESSED with the Sphero BB-8 toy, and loves all things BB-8. (It's actually pretty cool, he gets so excited when he sees even a cartoon drawing of BB-8 like the one in the Little Golden Book I Am a Droid, that was the first time we were sure that he recognized an object just looking at a picture.) So this was a no-brainer. The cover is cool, BB-8's ball spins 360 degrees around (similar to the way a star chart rotates) and the head moves on a separate axis so you can rotate it about a 120 degree arc across the top of the book. The story is simple but well-written for a young audience, it follows the first part of the plot of Episode 7 basically from BB-8's perspective. (There is one page that does not feature BB-8, when Poe Dameron is being interrogated by Kylo Ren.) BB-8's goal is to guard the secret Poe Dameron asked him to keep safe. It chronicles him making friends with Rey and Finn and escaping Jakku in the Millennium Falcon. My son enjoys this book a lot. He loves looking at the BB-8 on the cover. He can move the head around, but not really the body (he just turned one.) The quality seems pretty good, my son pulls pretty hard on the head, but so far it has not torn. Few things are really baby-proof, but this one is definitely baby-resistant! He really enjoys looking at real pictures and the book features screen shots taken directly from the movie. He loves pointing to BB-8 on every page! The text is a little bit complex for him at the moment (I still read it to him as it's great for him to hear the words, and it's never too early to start him out on Star Wars!) But it would be really great for slightly older toddlers. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up, I highly recommend this one for everyone with a little BB-8 fan!

BB-8 rolls into fun reading!
Great-grandson loved it. I always try to buy him books that will peak his interest in learning to read, and, this is one I had to read to him 4 times in the 1st hour. It is filled with pictures that we can discus and we both enjoy the book as well as our time together. This is one of the great ones for this purpose. The fact that BB-8's body as well as his head move is very inviting for young, and old, readers.

Not a baby book but good for toddlers
I was on the hunt for Star Wars baby books and found this one. BB-8 can spin on the cover, which kids will love. The story is written for children with live shots from the movie, but it's not a "baby book" as most board books are. Still I'd recommend it for toddlers or slightly older children.

BB8 Obsessed Toddler Loves It
My daughter loves this book! I love that BB8 is the focus. He's her favorite Star Wars character. She is three and has all kinds of Star Wars items. We keep this book in the car where she can reach it from her car seat (back of driver's seat pocket). She enjoys spinning his body and sliding his head back and forth. I read it to her all the time. It's a short story that's easy to follow. To be honest I didn't realize it moved until we got it. So that was a fun surprise! I was worried about durability, but it's been great! We haven't had any issues.

A boring, "holey" retelling of the movie
If you are looking for a very brief, boring rehash of the movie, this book is for you. The language is clumsy and unimaginative. Large, important chunks of the movie storyline are glossed over with just a sentence or two. The best part of the book is the BB8 cutout on the cover, but it often gets stuck to one side and is too stiff for my 2yo to manipulate on her own. Save your money and buy Star Wars 123 or ABC instead.

now he can read a "star wars" book like his big brother and not tear up big bros
Cute book...got for my 4 year old because its a board book, now he can read a "star wars" book like his big brother and not tear up big bros! He loves that the BB-8 swivels on the front.

this is the perfect book for a toddler obsessed with BB-8
As others have said, this is the perfect book for a toddler obsessed with BB-8. We'd tried a few other Force Awakens and Droid books, but this one is the real winner. And the movement on the cover is just delightful. I wish we'd gotten this one first.

Not great.
My 2 year old is not as interested in spinning the droid around as I would have thought... The writing is pretty boring, I was hoping for something that would make Star Wars more accessible to my toddler and this did not do it.
