Great buy
Brilliant addition to my scope has really helped to control the rat problem. Now left wanting the rats back will have to put away till needed again. Great buy worth every penny. I thought it would not be up to scratch because its quite cheap but it's Brilliant. It's also quite easy to set up I found it easy enough and I'm a complete novice. Definitely will be recommending this to all my friends.

Good, effective budget night vision for pest control
I purchased a Megaorei 2 night vision from Amazon to mount on my Remington Sabre TH .177 for dealing with a rat infestation in the garden of a domestic property. Although rats are supposed to have dichromatic vision, they had become wary of my red gun lamp, so I needed to find an alternative and I took a chance on this inexpensive kit. I found the Megaorei 2 very easy to mount on my Hawke scope and focus on the reticle. The scope's parallax adjustment's then used to obtain a sharp image on the monitor for the range at which I'm shooting. The pro's of the Megaorei 2 are; it's inexpensive, well built and designed, easy to use and records both stills and video. The unit I purchased came without batteries, so I purchased some 18650 batteries and a charger separately. The disadvantages are; the resolution is 720p, not full HD like a Pard, but this is perfectly usable (like the NiteSite was) and gives a clear view at night. Also, I made a simple plastic collar to prevent the Allen screws from marking the eye bell of my scope, though camouflage tape comes with the kit for this purpose. The IR illuminator supplied with the unit I purchased was an 850nM unit where the beam can be adjusted, but there is no power adjustment to dim it for close range (sub-10m) shooting. Other than that, the illuminator works well for medium ranges. There is also a laser IR illuminator available for the Megaorei 2 which costs slightly more but is a lot more powerful. I bought a Nightfox XB10 940nM LED illuminator which has adjustable power output, so I can use it from very close range, without swamping the camera unit, to about 270m, for increased magnification scanning at distance. Being 940nM, this illuminator has a much dimmer LED glow than a 850nM unit, making the whole package covert to the quarry. Shooting off sticks in total darkness, I find the Megaorei 2 works really well and I personally prefer the heads up position where I can use both eyes, for comfort. I've used the Megaorei 2 for around 4 hours without any real impact on battery life, though I carry some spare batteries in my pocket just in case, as they're inexpensive. Yes, there are more pricey NV units and one can spend serious money on some fantastic thermal digital scopes, but for my requirements for pest control I find the Megaorei 2 a really useful tool and well worth the purchase price. P.S. the camera has a switch for day use, so can be used during daylight hours to record stills and video in colour. Night IR recording is monochrome only.

Cheap, second hand item that is faulty
The media could not be loaded. Item arrived, screen had finger prints on it. Item had scuff marks.Needed it for a job so attached it anyway.Item turned itself on and off repeatedly, wouldn’t stay on. Generally a very cheap and tacky item. I could have forgiven it looking second hand if it actually worked!Rubbish

Very useful and intuitive
Every so often, we get unwanted visitors who damage a timber outbuilding. They seem to be transient rather than resident, but neither case is acceptable, so a remedy had to be found. These visitors would generally call during the hours of darkness. I already had a nightsight of sorts but it was a home-built 3D printed job a bloke was flogging on eBay. This new one has a much better spec. including photo and video capture, and a clarity bettered only by the most expensive models available. Day and night modes are instantly switchable, and 2x fully charged 18360 batteries will last a full 7 hours. Definition is very good and I have found looking at a target via a screen with both eyes is infinitely preferable to looking through a scope with just one. The design is also robust and will take a few knocks, although it would be madness to deliberately mistreat it. When the front portion of the gun is held in a rest, aiming is very satisfactory and the accuracy is exactly what I wanted. I recommend it.

Ease of use
I purchased this to control a rat problem in my back garden. When I unpacked it I was disappointed with the poor quality of the plastic used in the battery box etc. After I had set it up which was very easy I was disappointed with the daylight picture it was a bit blurred no matter what I did I could not alter it.I tried it at night and it was really good which is when I need to use it. I haven't used the infrared beam my cctv provides enough light . I think it could be a better build quality and iron out the daylight picture

Great communication 2
Great communication seen a few reviews saying camera turning on and off, had the same problem Spoke to the seller. Very fast reply removed 2 rubber bungs where the usb plug into after speaking to the seller and solved the problem. Having a pard nv007 system and other old night vision setups. Wanted something that was plug and play and for the price cannot complain at all Great for a spotter scope aswell due to the screen but also great for use on a rifle for recording footage. The only thing I would say is a scope with parallax is best for use with this setup as the cross air can be blurry if the scope does not have paralax ajustment. You can still shoot and see the crossair but can be a little blurry without the option to focus the viewing lense to the camera. All in all for the price it's a good bit of kit and 100% a good bit of kit to start on if your into night shooting before spending more money on higher end hear
